Owner description: At Everglades Area Tours, we set ourselves apart from the competition by offering the most intimate and educational tours of Everglades National Park and the surrounding protected areas. All of our guides are formally trained Florida Master Naturalists, Environmental Educators, and Full-Time Outdoor Leaders. You won’t find any intrusive airboats here -- they’re not allowed in Everglades National Park due to the damage they inflict on the ecosystem. Instead, we offer more exclusive guided boat, kayak, and walking tours with the most experienced tour guides in the state. Our most popular eco-tour, the Boat Assisted Kayak ECO Tour, combines the best of a boat tour, a kayak tour and a walking tour into one four hour adventure! Come experience the wildly unpredictable and natural beauty of Everglades National Park with Everglades Area Tours, where adventure awaits at every turn.

Just three of us in a power boat (not one of those noisy airboats!) operated by Captain Dan. Saw many dolphins, cormorants, blue heron, a mother osprey feeding her hatchlings, and a sand reef populated entirely by a host of rare migratory white pelicans! This tour surpassed all our expectations and Dan's commentary, personable manner, and respect for the wildlife added to a memorable experience. Only sour note was the off-hand reception given to us by the person opening the office (we arrived at 8:10am for 8:30 departure)--not particularly welcoming at all.

Thank you for taking the time do a review. The 10,000 Islands are of Everglades National Park is awesome. I hope that you enjoyed the Cuban Coffee while you waited on the other guests... everyday and every tour is different in the Park. We are so lucky to live and work here.

Anticipated more kayaking but enjoyed the trip nonetheless. The area of 10,000 islands is boundless sea, birds and mangroves. Beautiful weekend day without another boat in sight. The beach walk was reminiscent of times gone by with large intact shells all over. Captain Dan was knowledgeable and personable. Shared the trip with a 4 yo and his Dad. The trip accommodated the child well. Would recommend as family outing.

Thanks you for taking the time write a review. The Boat Assisted Kayak Eco Tour consists of three parts, typically. Each is led by a Florida Master Naturalists ... a boating tour, a kayaking tour and a beach walk on a remote uninhabited island. We always have to tailor the experience to each group on the tour. With the youngster, we trimmed the kayaking part a bit. Perhaps next time, you may want to experience the Alligators and Orchids tour or the Everglades National Park Kayak Eco Tour...both a "paddling only" trips.

This will beat any airboat tour around. We have now done this tour twice with captain Dan and the second time was better than the first. Dan provides an historical overview of the Everglades area, a comprehensive explanation of fauna and foliage of the area, especially pre and post hurricane. He points out birds and nests along the way and how they have adapted post hurricane. Imagine slipping into a beautiful cove surrounded by mangroves where the only noise is an occasional bird call. Very peaceful and serene. The day ended with a pod of playful dolphins. Doesn’t get much better. And oh yeah, you may not even see another boat. 10,000 islands to yourself. Wow!
