We happened to find ourseves in Gainesville and were looking for a place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The options were limitless but we wanted to try something different and a bit more adventurous. In a strip mall anchored by Publix right along Route 24 we found exacly that – the Maple Street Biscuit Company. As the name clearly implies, there were a host of choices built with maple syrup, biscuits or both. You couldn’t always tell by the names though. I had The Squawking Goat and Mary opted for BAM! The former was a stuffed biscuit sandwich consisting of a flaky biscuit (maple flavored), with a natural fried chicken breast, fried goat cheese medallion and house made pepper jelly all over everything! It had a very nice “kick.” BAM was slightly more traditional consisting of a house made brown butter vanilla bean waffle with Asiago cheese and pecanwood smoked bacon baked inside. Both were delicious. And then Josh brought us a large, flaky, maple syrup infused biscuit along with a blackberry-blueberry jam. It too was wonderful. Service was friendly and very helpful. The food was (for us at least) uniquely different and very flavorful. The ambience was playful and the prices reasonable (our bill was just over $20 with a couple of coffees).

My wife and I went here on Saturday for a late breakfast early lunch. It was packed but they move pretty fast so don’t let the line scare you away. We both got the squaking goat biscuits and really liked them- might get the pepper jelly on the side next time as they douse the plate with it but that’s just a personal thing. Overall pretty tasty food and I’d recommend it to others.

Meet some associates for breakfast here and enjoyed the meal. Some unusual items available and everything seems to be cooked to order. Decent coffee out of a real mug.

Not your usual breakfast please, a little confusing for first time visitors, with the staff assuming you've been there before and know where everything is at. It was a slow morning so we had time to adapt but the staff was also kinda slow. The food was very good. The Ralphie was tasty and reasonably priced. Would try again now that we know the system.

Have no clue why this place gets so much hype as it is very expensive, fair food that you order at the counter (that takes an exceedingly LONG time to prepare). Lines weren't all that long (probably because a million people were waiting for their food, sitting down at tables), so boy were we fooled when it took 35 minutes to get 3 biscuits cooked (and believe me--nothing special) one Saturday in September (not even a game day). The prices are so ridiculous too for an order at the counter place--an egg and cheese biscuit for $8--I am not kidding. Kinda silly way they announce your order is FINALLY ready is by screaming something about you (other than your name) that you give to your cashier when ordering. Our day's "fun" was "what is your favorite hobby" so all these people were confused when giving the cashier "working out" or "photography" or whatever (as someone else had the same hobby and everyone was waiting SO long for their food) So much fun after waiting 35 minutes! No thanks, I'll go elsewhere next time.
