This place is a hollow shell of the deliciousness that it used to be. It's now simply living off of the legacy of what it once was... Alumns will continue to flock here to remember their past stomping grounds, but current students will wonder why anyone would pay $8+ for a lousy burrito. Very sad that a sacred institution like BB has come to this. It's like seeing your favorite punk band reach old age and trying to pull one more concert tour, only in it for the $. Sad.

Yes, the parking situation sucks, and there's no getting around that. Yes, you should always get your burrito double-wrapped, or else you'll probably be wearing some of it. But the flavor... just WOW. I've never had a better burrito (I recommend the Beef Primo) anywhere else, and every person I've ever introduced to the place has loved it too. A must-visit every time I get back to Gainesville.

This small restaurant just north of UF is a nice alternative to the usual American Mexican restaurants. They have a great selection of burritos, tacos, enchiladas with your choice of fillings. I had the pork which was a pulled pork with cabbage and tomatillo salsa. It was flavorful and not too saucy or greasy. The tortillas are not stiff and heavy but thin like they are made from phyllo dough only thicker. The guacamole was also good. But to add to the appeal, they have a great selection of beer both On tap and in the bottle. Not just common beer but microbreweries and full bodied beer. The restaurant was clean and staff were efficient. A great combo!

When I attended UF in the 80s this was the place to go for cheap, but really good food. There was no room to eat and the line was out the door and down the block all the time. Over the years they have added to the menu and the prices have gone way up. The food is still good, but the price for Guac is up to $5.00 for a small portion. Don't get me wrong, it's great Guac, just not worth the price anymore.

The place was so small back then and had awesome character. Fast forward to today and they have gone the "corporate" route with a look that mimics a Moe's or Chipotle. They have a bar where you can drink craft beers and plenty of seating inside and outdoors. Workers now bring the food to your table. The famous green neon "Guac" sign is now inside. If the sign is not lit up...no Guac.

While all this sounds great, as a customer for over 30 years I don't like the new look and feel of the place. Long time customers know exactly what I'm talking about. I liked it better when they yelled out your order number and you went to get your food to eat across the street at the business school picnic tables.

If you like the modern look and conveniences, you'll like Burrito Bros. If you remember it the way I do, you'll be less than impressed. Here's to keeping some things the way they used to be. Parking is still horrendous.

Janet...you told me years ago you wouldn't go corporate, especially after the Tampa experiment. :(

The prices have gone up, the back deck and serving window are closed and the food is just not as good as it used to be. The food is average, not bad, but not outstanding.
