I kind of hesitate to brag on Spinnakers because I don't want so many people renting it that it's booked up when we return.
For a family of four, or less, it doesn't get much better than this. We've stayed in Cabin One and the Crow's Nest on past visits, and both are always clean, up-to-date, and inviting. I've stayed at a number of other places on the island over the years, and many of them can not make that claim.
Although it's a small area, the layout of Spinnakers turns it into a quiet, private resort. If you don't feel like making a short walk to the beach, the salt water pool is a great alternative, especially if you feel like barbequing by the pool in the evening.
And the beach is only a few hundred yards away, if that far. I've never measured it off, but it doesn't take more than two or three minutes to cross the street, pass through a narrow passage of overhanging trees and plants, and find yourself standing on the best beach in America.
In fact, the only way Spinnakers could possibly be any better is if it were actually right on the beach. But believe me, that short walk is well worth it compared to many of the other accommodations that can be found on the beach.
Also, if you want something else to do, nearby you'll find shops and restaurants. Don't feel like walking to them? Spinnakers has several bikes available that you can use.
The part of the island that Spinnakers is located on is about as laid back as you can possibly get, so don't expect to find any wild nightlife nearby.
We love it it at Spinnakers. Whether you're a couple or a small family, I'd be very surprised if you didn't also.
