I had a treatment today with Anja and it was one of the best deep tissue massages. She is truly gifted and illustrates her love in massage therapy.

While the hotel is nice, it wasn't particularly noteworthy. The $700 nightly room rate was for the name Ritz-Carlton more than that it provided $700 of value. My wife and I spent a week at the Fontainbleu a couple of weeks ago for half the cost but it was equal to the Ritz in terms of the amenities. The only major difference was that the Ritz was quiet whereas the Foutainbleu had music blaring within the pool area. Since the Ritz was acquired by Marriott, it seems like the service is moving more toward a Marriott style and away from what can generally be expected at a Ritz.

This is our go to place to stay when visiting south Florida. So close to South Beach yet miles apart in atmosphere. Quiet and relaxing. Plenty of activities if you desire or just lounge at the beach or pools and be pampered. The restaurants are great, and the lounge is top shelf.

You just can't go wrong with the Ritz. They always anticipate your needs and our family just loves it. Great location with awesome views!

Poorly trained masseuses who substitute vigor and oil for knowledge. A 50 minute reflexology massage by someone who apparently had no training to provide such a service. A hot stone couples massage by one masseuse who had fingers like a snow crab claw. My neck is still aching from the pounding. There's more to a massage than pouring on some oil and pushing hard.

I expected top notch professionals. On the positive side, the facility is nice, with a separate women's area with large sauna, steam room, whirlpool with waterfall and relaxation lounges. The spa attendants were helpful and thoughtful. The fresh fruit after the massage was a nice touch. However, I was disappointed enough by my treatments to not be willing to overlook the spa robe with unravelling sleeve, the dirty covers on the chaise lounges, and the bread/Elton John spa-zak.
I expected more.
