A lot to see and experience! Very nice little museum with lots of historical items, you might even remember some of the things in the museum! Very enjoyable and worth a visit!

My husband and I were visiting Lake Placid early December, whilst we were looking at a railroad mural this sweet guy called Jerry came out of the Historical Museum and started talking to us.
He asked if we wanted to have a look around the little museum, what a great little place filled with antiquities, including one of Jackie Kennedy's dresses.
Jerry is a Vietnam Vet and his stories and memories were fascinating.

Its only a little place run by volunteers and relying on contributions, Jerry told us its getting harder and harder to find volunteers which is a great shame as it would be very sad to lose this place as its a little step back in time.

The Historical Society Depot provides a good introduction to the major attraction of Lake Placid. A local volunteer is on hand to provide information and background and a short informative video is worth viewing.

Lovely visit in 2014. Many interesting items of past history. Spent a lot of time viewing all the treasures in this museum. Very friendly volunteers are there to answer any questions you may have and they are very informative. Well worth your time.

Very interesting small museum. Not just rail road, but all kinds of old things. Well worth a visit. Even a small jail. Shows your age when they have things you remember using.
