Friendly, helpful staff, clean, comfortable apartments. We return year after year. Nice well maintained pool and grounds. We arrived earlier than the 16:00p.m. Check in and were allowed to go straight in to our chosen apartment. The only negative was that we didn't have a door hanger sign to say we didn't need housekeeping and the maid didn't get us one when requested. ( not sure if she understood English?) Longboat key is just lovely, restful, beautiful and Quiet. If you want raz mataz go elsewhere. If you want to chill then this is paradise. Go to St Armands circle for food and gift shopping and an alternative Lido beach. See you soon Silver Sands.

Room Tip: All,of the apartment that we have had over 17 years of visits have been great.

I had never visited Longboat Key, found this gem of a hotel online and booked it. Got there and was pleasantly surprised. The trip I was on was a Mother daughter trip, me and my mom so we were in a smaller room but it was all we needed. Beautiful and clean!!! The beach was so beautiful and not crowded at all. The grounds were well kept. Pool was nice. The location to restaurants was great. Would stay here again and again!! Perfect place!

Booked room through Booking.com. Celebrating our anniversary and wanted place on or near beach (Gulf of Mexico), within 50 mile radius of home (this was 38 miles), and best price. Paid total $628 for three nights ( room plus 12% tax, plus $45 cleaning fee per stay, and $17 resort fee per night). Holiday weekend (4th of July) so lots of locations had no vacancy. Room was clean but to get best price no balcony, no lanai, no view unless you want to peek through bushes into the parking lot. Nice cabinetry for storing clothing and tabletop supplied with coffee maker, toaster, blender, and microwave. Also had small refrigerator we used for storing could drinks, food items for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Made ice in freezer with the two ice trays supplied. Fine for the two of us (husband and wife, seniors). Spartan furnishings, table with two bar chairs, one straight backed chair. If you want to lounge in this room all you've got is the bed. Bathroom small but not tiny. Direct access to beach on property is the selling point for us. Resort provides lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. We brought our own. Nice sized pool which we didn't use but looked to be enjoyed by many of the children staying with families at the resort. Also had to BBQ grills, propane fueled, saw one family using. We went out to eat all three nights we were there at restaurants in Bradenton within 7 miles of Silver Sands. For the two of us spent $90 at Beach House (drinks and seafood dinners), $40 at Fire & Stone Pizza (pizza buffet), and $41 at Wicked Cantina (Mex-Tex) for Margaritas and Mexican. All prices include 20 % tip. There are no restaurants within walking distance that we were aware of although you could probably get pizza delivery. We got lunches from Publix Supermarket (deli) and stored them overnight in our mini fridge. The resort has a little miniature golf area suitable for small kids and a garden. The rooms are in two story motel-like cinder block buildings that look like they've been there a couple of decades but basically well maintained. The resort is one of a few mixed in between million dollar mansions and condos and high class resorts. So in some regards it seems a little out of place but since it's right on the beach who cares? The beach is beautiful and that's what we were there for. The housekeeping crew looked like they were contracted through an agency as they arrived and departed in a van each day. Only saw one employee of the Silver Sands Resort and that was the girl at check in counter. She was pleasant and courteous but gave wrong directions to us on a site map. When we returned after not finding our room she blamed the "mix-up" on some other employee. The office is closed from around 5pm to 8am each day. After hours needs have a number to call. There is wi-fi available in the rooms, there is a computer available in the office. No pets are allowed. We booked the cheapest accommodations we could find and, thanks to good weather and a great beach, we were not disappointed. Our room was 243A.

Room Tip: If you want a view, pick a room with lanai or balcony facing pool or beach.

We decided to take a few days off and go up Sarasota and spend 5 days. We have friends that have stayed here and continue to do so during season. We booked a one bedroom (244) which is on the first floor with a walkout to the pool and beach. The unit is fairly large with the exception of the bathroom which is very small. Overall the unit could use some updating but the living room and bedroom furniture were quite new and in good shape. There is a decent size kitchen with a full fridge, stove and dishwasher so you can cook if desired. There are also a couple of outdoor grills in the pool area. All of staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very clean. We are planning another trip next year with some friends and this place is definitely on the list but we will need a two bedroom.

Silver Sands is a wonderful place. We enjoyed the closeness of the beach to our room. Free umbrellas ans chairs was a plus. Housekeeping does a great job and the grounds keepers keep this place amazing. It really impressed us and we will return. We rented room 258 and would book the same when we return.
