Only a few minor flaws when we stayed in unit #505. But the good things were so good that I was tempted to give it a 5 anyway. The location was great. The John's Pass Seafood Festival was in full swing and the area was quite a madhouse - how great to be able to stay within walking distance and not have to pay to park (if you could find a space there). We were quite grateful for a nice covered location assigned to us.

The view from the balcony was terrific and you could also sit in the living room with the blinds open and have a panoramic view from the sliding glass doors and around the corner to the side window. The unit was well furnished and supplies were quite adequate. I had brought some of my own, but they were not needed. Most of all I loved that the unit was quiet and private, but so close to all the activity happening in the area over the weekend.

I guess I should also mention the flaws. The biggest for me and would have bothered me more if we had stayed longer was the shower. The handle for turning it on and adjusting the water temperature was very difficult to move and I ended up taking a very hot brief shower then fighting with the handle to get it turned off again. Also the wi-fi is so poor it is for all intents and purposes non-existent, but I had already read in other reviews this was a problem and had decided it was not a deal breaker. The third not-a-biggie flaw was the blinds for the sliding glass doors were incomplete apparently missing a slat so they could not be closed all the way. Not a real problem because we wanted them open most of the time so we could see the incredible view.

Management was easy to work with and available even on the weekend. All in all, I'd recommend and rent again. Again the very best thing about Sandy Shores is location, location, location. Great place to center from and explore the coast.

Room Tip: 505 is a great unit with a great view, clean, well=stocked. Not sure about the others.

This was our second year we have stayed at Sandy Shores for our family vacation. The condos are clean and the location is unbeatable. Right on Madeira Beach and directly across the street from Johns Pass Boardwalk. This gives quick access to many shops and restaurants as well as watersports rentals, deep sea fishing and sunset and dolphin watch cruises. The property is well maintained and has a quiet family atmosphere. The pool isn’t overrrun with kids like resort pools tend to be. At night it’s nice and quiet.

We stays 2 adult couples in a 2 bedroom condo overlooking the ocean and really enjoyed our stay. The location was amazing, a 5 minute walk to John's Pass plentiful restaurants and shops. Firstly, this is NOT a hotel, it's a vacation rental. When we asked for a second roll of toilet paper we were told we need to buy our own. There's no turndown service or anything, and the elevator is slow as molasses and hotter than outside. However, the rate was reasonable (3 day minimum) and everybody had their own space. The view of the ocean was amazing and it was a lovely patch of beach. You do have to pay for the chair/umbrella set up but it's $25 for the whole day not a bad deal. There were some rowdy people on the beach but the building was relatively quiet. The unit itself was clean but could use a coat of paint. They provide dishware but expect you to wash it. I didn't have any dish soap so ran the dishwasher (with provided detergent) for a grand total of 6 glasses we used. Would stay again but come better prepared.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the ocean view, it's incredible. Bring your own toilet paper, towels, and dish soa...

Many kids without any behaviour. Pool as adult not usable, full of toys and a playground for canonball jumping kids. WIFI is absolutly terrible, slow and poor connection. Less shadow in the pool Area.

Room Tip: Best Way is Take Another Resort.

Great location across from Johns Pass. The entire property requires you to use a key for EVERYTHING!! Not a key card, a real physical key...which is a total pain. If your forget your key at any time, or if others in your group have one of the two keys provided, you could be waiting a while for someone to come and rescue you. You need a key to get INTO the pool area, which is understandable, but you also need a key to get OUT of the pool area. So if you are going to the beach, you will need to use your key 4 times. 1. to access pool area 2. to exit pool area and enter beach 3.exiting beach to get back into pool area 4. exiting pool area to parking lot so you can access your room. You will also need your key to use the stairs. This resort is only 4 stories, and there is only one small elevator, so most of the time people are using the stairs. Be very careful who you rent through!!! DO NOT use iTrip. They lie. Trust me, don't get involved with itrip, you will regret it...I do!!!! The room was decent, spacious for a one bedroom. The beds were terrible and noisy. My husband couldn't even sleep on it :( The wi-fi is basically non-existent, so don't rely on that. YES, I did contact the rental agency with every issue we encountered, including the fact that despite the so-called "final inspection", there were no beach towels.

Room Tip: They offer free wi-fi, but there is never a connection. Don't book through iTrip
