Our family of 5 (we have 3 girls ages 5 years, 2 years and 5 months old) spent the week of August 16-23 at the Marriott Harbour Lake. We stayed in building 31 in a roomy renovated 2-BR suite with a view of the lake and a short distance to the kids water park. The resort is indeed family oriented and the kids love spending time at the water park. It is literally next door to Seaworld with a bus (just outside the resort entrance) that comes by every 30 minutes, so we didn’t need to take our car and pay for parking at Seaworld. Restaurants, shopping and Disney parks are also close by (15-20 minutes by car). Overall, we were very happy with the location, services, facilities and friendliness of the staff. This was a great time share exchange and the resort does live up to its Marriott standards. We wished we had more time and will definitely come back in a few years.
Some memorable moments for us were:
The fireworks at Seaworld and the new Shamu Rocks show.
Swimming at the beautiful white sandy Clearwater Beach.
Fabulous dinner at Roy's Restaurant.
Taking pictures with the princesses and fairies at Disney World (actually the whole Disney experience was great). Recommend getting at least a 2-day pass.
Shopping at Prime Outlet (best outlet of them all)

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. We have 3 kids (15, 14, 11) I thought the place would be a little too young for them, but they had a great time in the pools and playing putt-golf. We didn't get much time at the resort was our only complaint as we spent 5 days hopping parks at Disney World. We also had some rainy days where we had to stay inside. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming. We stayed in building 14/15 and I recommend this building. The far end of the building away from the center of the resort is near the freeway so you might just request that you get a room nearer to the pool. We were in the middle and we had no freeway noise. The view from this building is the lake and it is very nice compared to looking out to a street or other buildings. We had been asigned to bldg 33 which was the furthest from everything and we asked for building 14/15 on recommendation from a review. They found a first floor room in bldg 15 which was great. The rooms are tastefully decorated and our kitchen was well stocked. They provided paper towels, dishwashing soap, dishwasher soap, plastic garbage bags and dish rags which some resorts leave up to you or give only enough for 1 day. This hotel is closest to Sea World and a 10-15 minute drive to Disney. We would definately stay here again with kids. In a few years though our kids will probably out grow it.

My young kids loved this resort with its activity slides and boats in the pool areas. It felt safe and secure, and had a good activity programme.
However i felt that it lacked the usual feeling of luxury that i have come to expect from Mariotts vacation club. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped.
My main criticism of this resort is its closeness to the I-4 motorway. I could here the traffic from my room 24/7 and found it impossible to use the balcony because of the noise. I would recommend asking for a room located at the front of the resort, furthest from the I-4. The location was good, as Disney, Universal and Seaworld theme parks were all within 10 mins driving distance. I would recommend thisresort to those with young children, but think that other could be disappointed.

We stayed in the recently renovated building. Our 5 year old daughter really enjoyed having her own studio apartment. We were able to see the Sea World fireworks every night from either screened balcony. Our daughter did not want to go to Disney, instead she wanted to swim in the resort pools - even though we have our own inground pool at home. We enjoyed the putt putt golf, food at Harborside, and the sundae bar in the pirate cup. The location is great. Only miles away from Sea World, Outlet Stores, Downtown Disney, and a multitude of restaurants.
We have stayed at other resorts that had more swimming pools, golf courses, and restaurants. However, we think this resort was more child friendly. Also, you were able to walk everywhere within the resort.

I have stayed at all Marriott Villas in Orlando now, apart from the Sable Palms, for some reason I had always avoided Harbour Lake (or Horizons). I certainly do not know why now. The pools are great for young kids, both are zero entry and have great things to play with. The villas are nice, we actually had a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom, both were nice.
