We ate at Boma-Flavors at Animal Kingdom for dinner buffet on Tuesday 9/29/09. If you are driving, turn into the e antrance that says Jamba House, we were looking for Animal Kingdom Lodge and didn't see it.

The Africa inspired food is organized into separate stations, so you don't have to line up like Fresh Choice. There is a station for desserts, soups, salads, kids foods, etc. you get the point. The food was excellent! There is something for everyone. We were so full!

The night we were there the salads offering were apple and jimaca salad, fried plaintain corn salad, spinach and quinoa salad, and avocado, papaya and grapefruit salad. The soups were curry coconut seafood soup, she crab soup, lamb potjie, chicken corn porridge soup, and butternut squash soup. For meats the offering were bbq tamarind salmon, durban spiced chicken, African-spiced carved strip loin, braised pork shoulder. Accompanying sauces were majai mara, sambal, brown bbq and Boma mustard.

The $28.99 dinner buffet included nonalcoholic beverages. Service was ok, we didn't get a friendly attentive server. We were there for the food and it was a self-service buffet, so the lax service didn't bother us.

Make sure you make your reservations as early as you can. We didn't plan ahead and had a hard time getting a reservation.

we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I was so excited to eat a Boma! I was so disappointed! Of course the service was great (as all disney dining seems to be) but i was not impressed with the food. Seemed to my husband and i like a glorified Golden Corral! The ribs were so tough you could not get them from the bone. Chicken was good. Dessert- try the Zebra Domes they were great. I ended up eating chicken and fruit from the fruit bar! If you are at AKL i would reccommend you try Jiko instead of Boma.

Food was different, but delicious and worth trying. My husband loved it! We had a good time eating there during our vacation. The restaurant is beautiful just like the hotel.

Don't be scared off by the "Africa" in Boma's name. While there were a few African influenced dishes (tasty!) it was mostly American fare. The bakery was all freshly prepared that day and as good as I have ever had. The service was quick and the breakfast a 10 (there were 6 of us including two kids ages 8 & 5). The made to order omletes were great!

Wonderful all around. Our service was fine - nothing spectacular, but not bad. The atmosphere was enjoyable. Definitely a clear African theme. And the food was awesome. We went for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet included more food options then I've ever seen for a breakfast buffet. It had all the traditional things you would expect, along with some traditional African foods, which were great. Dinner was much the same way. The buffet was huge - tons of choices. If you're willing to try new foods there were a lot of African flavors - some I didn't like while some I loved. They also had probably 10 or so desserts to try. Most of the desserts were smaller servings as well so you could try all of them! I would go back for both breakfast and dinner!
