Very nice, clean resort with all the amenities one needs for a family. Not the closest to Disney but not too far either.

My family of five stayed here for 4 nights over President's Week. We are not Marriott Vacation Club owners, however we are Marriott Rewards members. We took advantage of a Marriott Rewards offer of 20% off their Leisure Rate (normally $309 per night) for a rate of $247 per night. I came upon this property on Tripadvisor. We have relatives in Orlando and have stayed in numerous places over the last twenty years. And this one is a keeper!!
We drove through the entry at 11:00 PM after a late flight. In the dark, the place looked beautiful. Check-in was swift and the man at the desk was very friendly, giving me a map of the property and explaining many of the things that the resort offers. The Grande Vista is huge - it has lots of condo type buildings that are six stories high. We had a 2 bedroom villa and it was lovely. It had a master bedroom with king-sized bed, jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower, 2 sinks with granite tops, own screened-in lanai with table and 4 chairs, flat screened tv and chaise. It also had a second bedroom with two queen beds, tv, own lanai, and beautiful bathroom. It also had a nice updated kitchen with granite tops, stools, dining area with table and 6 chairs, and lovely living room area with tv and sofabed. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and super quiet. We were given toiletries each day and a complimentary box of Tide to use the stackable washer and dryer. Because we were paying a nightly rate we received housekeeping (making the beds, tidying, swapping out the towels, etc.). I think it may be different for the timeshare owners.
The place is a walker's paradise. They have a nature trail that is 1.9 miles that I used one morning. Another morning I just walked around the massive grounds. The property has 4 pools - we used two and they were both very niceand had ample lounges for the guests. They also have grills for guests' use - gas and charcoal. We had lunch at the pool one day and found the food to be good quality and priced reasonably for a resort pool. We also ate at their restaurant (Nick's Grill) twice. We had a great breakfast with omelettes and Belgian waffles one morning. We also had dinner and it was great (we weren't expecting it to be that good either) Service at the restaurant was fabulous too. They have tennis courts, a basketball court (my son rented a free ball for a while), boats for rent (pedal and motored), a Butterfly Garden, a Spa, etc. We also went to their on-site ice cream store once.
The resort was located just off International Drive, near Central Fl Pkwy and close to SeaWorld. We found the location to be convenient for Disney and Universal Parks. They gave me a free gift that I never claimed because I was afraid of the timeshare sales pitch. But no one ever hassled us about that and it was nice. So, to sum it up, from a person who has traveled to Orlando a lot, this place was wonderful!!

This was our 2nd stay at the Marriott Grand Vista. We were here in July of 2011 and absolutely loved it. We had a 2 bedroom villa in July and it was very clean and updated. We loved the grounds and the pools so much too. We just returned from our 2nd stay there and were a little disappointed. It was not quite as good as our stay in July. We had a very late flight and arrived at the resort after midnight. Check in was smooth and easy, however once we drove to our assigned room, there wasn't a parking spot to be found anywhere. We drove up and down, back & forth and finally found a spot 4 buildings away. This was horrific. We now had to drag all our luggage 4 buildings down and 5 floors up (yes, there is an elevator) This was the only time parking was an issue. They were repaving the parking lots so this is what caused the issue. To start out with, we had a 1 bedroom this time around. We again asked for a refurbished room. The front desk told us it was refurbished in 2008 so we figured it would be fine. The room was okay. It was much more worn looking than our room in July and not quite as clean. The countertops were not clean to the touch and the bathroom sink was gritty and had soap scum in it. Obviously, this did not make me happy as I felt that I had to clean before I unpacked. For some reason, we were given a handicapped equiped room and the bathroom shower had bars and a seat in it. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor as there was nothing to stop the water from spilling in the bathroom. The shower had no lip on it at all and the shower curtain did absolutely nothing so everyday we had to roll up pool towels before we took showers to avoid the entire floor from becoming soaked. This was a real hassel as we were constantly dealing with large soaked bath towels. Everything else was fine in the room. I do really enjoy the Grand Vista. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are outrageous, however this time around my room could have been better. I would definitely return to the grand Vista.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Grand Vista. We really enjoyed the villa, pools, golf and the kids maze! It was a tough decision to leave the hotel and go to a theme park after 2 days in a row. Kevin is a very kind gold instructor and was patient and great with the young children. We can't wait to go back!

Recently we were going to Disney and stayed at the Marriott Grand Vista in Orlando FL. The hotel was clean, lots to do for the children especially the pools and playrooms, many restaurants to eat at too. It had a pizza hut on speed dial, mini market to buy essentials. It was a wonderful, wonderful hotel. We highly recommend all to stay here. Lots to do in the area too.

Room Tip: all the rooms were great
