I am a Marriott points person. I always stay at Marriott properties, often in TownePlace Suites because I like that they have a kitchen in every room (with a full sized refrigerator), yet still offer free breakfast, and that the rooms are so affordable. I have even stayed in this particular hotel before, 2 years ago (it was totally fine during that visit). I think part of the issue is that the property is getting older; there were a few minor issues in the room (the fan in the bathroom doesn’t work, the mattress on the pull out couch is definitely old and needs replacing) - nothing that I would complain about to staff since I was only here one night. But the main thing is that the walls are apparently so incredibly thin that I was awake from 2 AM to 5 AM listening to people above me and on the side of me - moving furniture, dropping heavy things (suitcases?) on the floor, having sex, and I could even hear someone snoring. I had been so tired after a long day and had gone to bed early, excited for sleep. So when I awoke to the cacophony of noise that lasted for hours, it was kind of disheartening. Needless to say, i’m still tired this morning. I asked the manager about it just now, and he said that lots of people who stay here are coming back from “the clubs” at that time. I had no idea that the Pensacola TownePlace Suites was a destination of club goers who like to throw suitcases around at 3 AM, but there you go. I will definitely still stay at TownPlace Suites again, in general, because they usually are ideal for me when i travel; but definitely not at this particular one.
