Something about the St John's river and Dunn's Creek that I magical to me. Georgia Boys is not fancy. If you like five star accommodations skip it. If bugs and nature isn't your thing, you need not stay here. This is old time fish camp from days gone by. The buildings and dock has seen better days as the elements and hot Florida sun has taken it's toll but you couldn't ask for a more awesome place to be. Quiet, plenty of outdoor space, grill, picnic tables, covered dock with plenty of seating for making new friends, visiting old friends. Scott McGhee operates the facility and there is no harder working man. He does a great job and whatever they pay isn't enough. He is always accessible, either in person or by phone. Helps to launch your boat or unload, brings fresh towels, whatever you need. Each day he or the ladies collects your trash, brings towel, soap, etc. The grass and grounds are kept very manicured. There is an old fish cleaning station still used daily. The cottages are furnished and have basic kitchen wear, coffee pot, fridge etc. The beds have fresh sheets and are decent unless your super picky.
This is a great get away for fishing people and nature lovers. Scott also runs a boat rental out of Georgia Boys. Cheap prices. We took a pontoon out one day. He gave us a great price. We had a blast.
