“The best Hotel on Treasure Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

We just vacationed here with our four young kids and had an amazing time. It is clean and in the heart of treasure island. This is the place to be if you are looking for a newer hotel among the old where you don't have to leave the resort. They have two pools and two restaurants. Food was great at both. Although it is on the beach side, It is a long walk to the water because the sand goes on for almost 1/4 mile before the water starts. I would recommend a ground floor room when traveling with small children because of the walkways and balconies. They showed a movie outside and the pool was open pretty late which was great. Nice to have a kitchenette and Publix is a very short walk away. Clean and relaxing!!

I stayed at this resort for a wedding, I have to say, all of the staff from front desk to bartenders and waitresses were so very friendly and helpful. Food was great, rooms beautifully furnished and bright. Had a balcony overlooking the gulf, was a wonderful time.

Room Tip: Rooms in taller building, great.

My husband and I stayed here for a night on a recent long weekend away. The hotel is a little cheesy at first glance, because of the bright yellow exterior. The rooms, however, were recently updated, very nice and very clean. The location is great and everyone was very nice there. There are also 2 pools in addition to the hotel being right on the beach. We would definatly stay there again.

Room Tip: Our "poolview" room did not have a balcony.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The rooms are not huge but big enough for 2 people. We had an efficiency right on the beach tower with a balcony over looking beach and pool. It's a pretty lively place with 2 restaurants on site. We love walking across the street to Ricky T's Bar, they usually have live entertainment with decent food and reasonable drink prices. This is a great area with plenty of walkable options. The beach is huge, and it's about 300 yards from the hotel to the ocean. All in all it's a great place to get away, park the car and relax!!

My sister and I (50s) stayed for 5 nights in March 2012. We had a deluxe gulf-front studio in the Palms building (441) overlooking the pool and gulf. We loved the balcony, and the small studio was perfect for our needs. We had breakfast in our room each day but did no real cooking. The beds were firm but comfortable. Bedding was extremely soft and luxurious. Pillow selection was very good. I think there were 5 pillows on each bed which was nice for reading and watching the flat screen TV. The bathroom was nice, a little small but fine for 2 people. The outside noise is annoying but Gulf Blvd. is very busy so you may want white noise if you sleep light. I didn't hear other guests, just a lot of motorcycles and ambulances (not to fault the hotel). Staff is very friendly and housekeeping kept us loaded up with whatever we asked for (extra washcloths, creamer, etc.). The resort is great. We only used the Palms pool which was always perfectly clean. It is 300 yds to the water, so plan on taking whatever you need for your beach time. The boardwalk was nice for daily walks. We walked to Walgreens and Publix almost every day. I picked up some extra hangers at the dollar store, you will need them if you want to hang up more than a couple items. There are so many great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The Pearl (top rated French restaurant) is around the corner in a strip mall. Gigis (Italian) is very close as well. Bazzie's was great for lunch or a drink. I wasn't impressed with Sloppy Joe's. It was okay but there are better dinner options very close. I really don't think you can beat the location of Bilmar. Parking is congested, but they have another lot across the Blvd next to Walgreens. If you sit up by the resort there are chairs provided. If you go down to the water you will have to lay on your towel or rent a chair or cabana (per hour or for the day). For a long trip you might be farther ahead to go buy a chair your first day and take it down to the water with you. $8 a day for a chair adds up fast. We used our towels except for our last day when we rented a cabana for 2 hours ($20).

Room Tip: Unless you are on a strict budget, get a gulf front room with a balcony. It "makes" your...
