This place is great. Very Clean and lots of extras, like the outdoor firepit and free wood. The best views in Blue Ridge. We had a fantastic time and will return.

We stayed at the Cohutta Overlook for a weekend. We had 8 people on the list and 6 cars in the driveway, and ended up getting a call from a very aggressive guy from Escape to Blue Ridge (rental company) accusing us of having 12 people based off of nothing but counting cars. Also the pictures do not represent the place properly and it is not secluded. Be prepared to be watched if you stay here as I assume it is the owners who live next door.

As the owner I’d like to introduce a few additional facts relevant to how the reader interprets this review.

1) Cohutta Overlook is pet-friendly, allows two dogs - with management approval, and requires a $15 fee per pet.

2) When making the reservation, this party reported a group of 8 plus 2 dogs. This was acceptable to both parties and the rental agreement signed.

2) Later, while members of their party were already in route with their dogs, these guests asked permission to bring 1 additional dog. In order to accommodate them, management went against standard policy, and approved 3 dogs. Sadly, these guests were being dishonest - they showed up with more than 3 dogs.

3) The owners do not live next door – they do not even live in the same state. A neighbor reported a problem based the on the commotion of 6 cars in a small driveway (very unusual for a group of 8) and a significant number large dogs on the unfenced property.

4) When questioned by the management company, these guests admitted to violating the rental agreement with regard to the number of dogs and agreed in writing to pay any additional damage and/or cleaning fees required.

5) These guests left personal items at the cabin, which the management company mailed back to them, at management’s expense.

We put a lot of time and money into making sure that our cabin is a place that our guests will have a pleasant stay and that our management company is professional. We love the view, the amenities, and the proximity to local attractions and we feel that the overwhelming majority of our guests agree.

First time cabin renters we wanted a cabin with some privacy this is not what you will get here there is a cabin to your left and the owner lives to you right. We listened to a dog bark and came back to a weed wacker going off in the yard. When we arrived the basement carpet was wet from rain. 3bedroom cabin and not one of the rooms had a dresser to put your clothes in,this was a week stay. Horseback riding was great resturaunts closed by 8pm.

The cabin has changed ownership since this review was posted. Each bedroom now has plenty of storage and / or dressers available.
