Upon first glance we were unsure of what to expect from our vist to Red Apple Barn. BUT, it was a wonderful way for a family to to spend an hour or two. The orchard is not visible from the road so we rode in a wagon attached to a tractor to the orchard where we found many varieties of apples to pick. Aside from picking apples, a favorite thing for my grandaughter and other children there was to feed fallen apples to the horses who stood ready at the fence bordering the orchard. Thre is a fee for each person which includes the ride to and from the orchard, a cup of cider and an apple donut. Bags to fill with picked apples are sold separately. The family had a fun time; it was well worth the time and money. As well as children learn that apples are grown in orchards ; they just do not just appear in gracery stores!

The store was small with a small selection compared to other places. They seemed to be more of a destination out back and down the hill for tourists that was to see the farm.

Great experience! A couple of our group had never been apple picking and this was a fun way for them to go, as well as a seasoned New Englander who grew up around many orchards. It was an awesome tractor ride out to the orchards and the $9 admission price includes an apple cider donut and cup of apple cider, as well as a cute little play area for kids and rock painting station. Very well decorated for the upcoming fall season and small but well stocked farm store.
