Crossroads Grocery and Deli
Ranked #16 of 65 Restaurants in Ellijay
Price range: US$0 - US$10
Cuisines: Barbecue, Deli, Pizza
Description: CrossRoads Grocery is the oldest, continuously run store in Gilmer County. Established in 1907, it continues to be a hub of business and social activity in the heart of "Cartecay". You will find typical convenience store items such as snacks and drinks, fishing and picnic supplies, firewood, ice, non-ethanol gasolines (87 and 93 octane), diesel fuel, and Appalachian Trail items. (CrossRoads is the closest store to the southern terminus of the A.T.) The cafe side of CrossRoads offers deli sandwiches, salads, BBQ and Brunswick stew, hot dogs, burgers and pizza. A special treat is our Ice Cream from Ashby's of Michigan. We offer the last "country store" experience in the Ellijay area. "Come see us...!"

If you’re in the Ellijay this is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. We picked up homemade pimento cheese sandwiches for a picnic at the nearby winery. Great food and friendly service!

What a jem found in this little store. With all of the traffic running past to the Apple Orchards, your missing the best Deli. All homemade and fabulous. We had chicken salad, ham and other sandwiches and they all were to die for. Great friendly owners going out of their way to assist.

One tip: This is a perfect place to stop and get your sandwiches and spreads to take as picnic to the nearby wineries.

When we were in Ellijay, Ryals (the owner) went above and beyond in customer service. On the very day of the solar eclipse he went out of his way to find us two pairs of the eclipse glasses. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we didn't realize there was a restaurant in the store but my husband bought some homemade peanut brittle that was delicious. We later spoke with several people that had eaten at the restaurant and they all told us the food was amazing. When we go back to Ellijay in December we will definitely be eating there.

Stopped in to Crossroads for a biscuit Saturday morning, I didn't know what awaited me. These are more than biscuits, they were like fluffy, yummy pillows to hold my ham and sausage. best homemade biscuits around. Ill definitely be back next week.

Riles has cornered a specific market no one else has in the region. He has high quality meats, dairy deli items. Farm to table breakfast and lunch foods. Plus pizza and burgers etc and the best smoked salmon dip I've ever head. Ice cream. Home made deserts. In a historic little white general store with the original pumps. Any day you go there. You will be sitting with local farmers and workers in overalls and work clothes, having their breakfast and lunch or just relaxing and chatting with neighbors. A must visit
