I just completed my third trip to the Lodge. This was my first time staying during Christmas time and it was wonderful.

The lodge is decorated beautifully and the light show is really special.

I previously stayed inside the hotel and also in one of the lake houses on the property, they are all very nice. This visit we stayed in a Villa room with a fireplace, lake view and king size bed for only slightly more than a standard room inside the hotel. I would say it is VERY MUCH WORTH IT! :)

The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is great, the bar is fun, the pool is a ton of tun in the summertime, the Spa is divine ... it's over all a fantastic place to stay!

Room Tip: Fireplace Villa with Lake View - Worth it!

This was our second time staying here. This hotel is truly a hidden gem and the first place I would recommend for anyone wanting a stress free getaway from Atlanta. My husband and I spent one Monday night here just for the two of us to do something Christmasy. The property is beautiful and the lodge is recently renovated. A mix of contemporary and rustic. We found the staff very courteous. The view from the rooms is great. Room service came quickly. The spa is truly fantastic! You must check that out. Fantastic relaxation rooms and great services. We drive through the holiday light display. We prefer this one over Lake Lanier.

We came here to visit Fantasy in Lights. The Christmas Village and the tour start was in walking distance. If you do not like walking the hotels offers a shuttle service.

We took advantage of this service to get from the airport to the hotel. Years before when the hotel was owned by Marriott there was no shuttle offered.

The service at the front desk was very good. We had a lot of questions about Fantasy in Lights. The staff was very helpful.

The breakfast buffet was very good. We enjoyed the Christmas decoration and the hot apple cider offered in the eveving sitting at the fire place.

Beware when making your reservation. Seems like a bit of a bait and switch. I made my reservation for the lodge and spa but somehow ended up at The Mountain Creek Inn....which is equivalent of a very overpriced Super 8 motel. It’s old and run down and outside the gardens. When I went back to the desk to straighten out the mistake in the reservation, Diane didn’t bat an eye and moved us to the lodge for an additional$75/night. Well worth it! The lodge is clean and beautiful with gorgeous views and it is inside the Calloway Gardens area. The Fantasy in lights was very nice but other than that there is NOTHING else to do. I envisioned a fire in the fire pit with maybe some hot chocolate and s’mores. That being said, 1 night here to see the lights and enjoy the grounds is plenty. We made the mistake of 2 nights

Dear Momoriarty,

First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback. While you were not impressed with the beginning of your visit, we are glad we were able to assist you in improving your stay. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience at the Lodge and Spa and with Fantasy In Lights. This time of year our main focus is on Fantasy In Lights, however, we do encourage you to visit the gardens during the day for the full experience. The Cecil B. Day Butterfly House is a wondrous place to visit along with the Birds of Prey Show. Tree Top Adventure is also a great experience, especially if you have kids with you! We do hope that you will choose to come visit us again during the spring or summer to experience the garden side of Callaway Resort & Gardens.

Very nice, spacious room with big bathroom. Restaurants have great food. The staff was nice but seemed a little stressed : understaffed during busier times. It took 30 minutes of calling and calling to get through to room service. It would be nice if the hotel had a gift shop to sell toiletries and snacks. The golf cart rental to ride around the gardens during the day was very reasonably priced and so much fun.

Dear Travelbc23,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your recent visit with us at the Lodge at Callaway Gardens. We do apologize for the inconvenience of getting through to room service. We will definitely take a look at this issue and find a way to resolve it. We do offer snack machines on each floor even though we do not have a gift shop within the Lodge. We do look forward to visit with you again in the future.
