Splendor Mountain Resort
Reviewed 3 September 2015

Sure don't know what happened from last year to this year with the hosts, but it was the worst camp EVER! We were told the pond was good to swim in, it was dried up, basically a mud hole!
Basement smelled musty from the time we got there, signs of water issues.
We didn't know the A/C was broken and leaking, kids kept using towels to dry up the water, thinking it was from the showers.. then we were accused of breaking the A/C and were charged to fix it! Over $500!
No firewood for the firepit, nor sticks for smores.
There was one thing after another with this place all week! We will not be staying here again!

Our lake had a beach just like many north Georgia lakes. The surface for swimming was 1/2 acre, and nine feet deep and clear.
The cabin carries a 100% rating by the health department. The cabins were both prepared for guests at arrival and dry and spotless.
The fire pit which overlooks the lake and game field was stocked and lit when the campers counselors and their extra guests of around 50 arrived. We do not supply s'more sticks, nor were any requested.
There was not one thing after the other.
We allowed this group to add to their numbers as it was a popular event the past TWO years, at no extra cost to them.
Damage to pipe and bedding occurred during this stay. When I went to start cleaning the lodges that is when I found a mess beyond belief and one of our four matching patchwork bedspreads soaked and colors bleeding piled in a heap. This was due to being left outside during a rainstorm. The AC technician certified the busted pipe and drain pan broke during their stay and by applied force. During their stay they brought neither of these issues to our attention. Party was aware of our Terms and Conditions. All damage falls within our reimbursement policy. Please read our other reviews.

My husband and I fell in love with Splendor Mountain as soon as we drove onto property in June 2013. It was exactly what we were looking for when choosing a venue for our July 2014 wedding. It has a gorgeous view that is even beautiful when it is pouring rain on your wedding day. We were able to rent Splendor Mountain for our wedding weekend which included a rehearsal site, ceremony, and reception site. Our family was able to stay at Splendor Mountain in the private lodges. The lodges are absolutely beautiful and you feel at home when staying there. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful as well. They were able to give us recommendations on vendors as well. On our rehearsal and wedding day they did whatever last minute things we needed done. They are the perfect hosts. If we had to do our wedding all over again we would pick Splendor Mountain again. If you are looking for a wedding venue, family event, or just a get away that is quiet, private with beautiful scenery then Splendor Mountain is your place. You also can't beat the price. We are planning a trip to Splendor Mountain in the fall and hopefully a big family vacation there summer 2015.

This was our base location for a high school cross country camp. It was awesome! The owners bent over backwards to provde every thing we requested. I don't think they know how to say "no". Location was great for some of site trail runs and team bonding outings. The houses where well equiped and very nice. We will be back for years to come!!

Splendor Mountain is one of my favorite locations to host a women's retreat! The venue location and the venue spaces were the perfect backdrop for our retreat as the views of the mountains are beautiful! This setting provided an experience for the women to focus on workshops and creating long lasting relationships together. Chevin is a joy to work with and always ensures that you have the best experience while at Splendor Mountain. This was our second year, and we look forward to many more splendid times here!
