We prefer this property when we stay in Sandpoint. Great location for walking, which is a big plus when you hit a pub or two (no need to get behind the wheel). It's unconventionally configured, but easily understood when explained by the nice ladies up at the front desk. Bottom line, it's essentially a ski lodge and has probably been there for decades, but La Quinta is taking care of the property very well. Our room was spacious and well appointed, Wifi worked great, and the spa area was well maintained. Breakfast looked hearty with hot items, but we opted for a place we love to visit every time we're in town. Grab the love of your life, take off on a Saturday during the off season, park your car at check-in, enjoy downtown, sleep well, and head home the next morning. Works for us....every time.

I loved this anniversary stay. The room was big enough to dance in, and the bed was heavenly! The fireplace was our favorite part. The long luxurious jacuzzi was an added bonus. really enjoyed our anniversary here!

Having never been to Sandpoint before we weren’t sure of the layout of the town or where we would like to be situated. After reading some reviews we settled on the La Quinta Inn. We were in town for the half marathon weekend and wanted something close to the park so I could walk to and from the start/finish line, but also close to restaurants and shopping so we wouldn’t constantly have to use the car. The La Quinta Inn is perfectly situated! We were able to walk everywhere and once parked, the car didn’t move again until we left.

We had a little trouble finding the front office to check in as the hotel is an odd collection of buildings that extend all the way down the street. But once we found the lobby, we were warmly welcomed and treated very kindly. Our room was in the furthest building and on the second floor, which we didn’t mind at all because it was that much closer to town and to the wonderful winery that is right next door. The breakfast room is above the lobby, so it’s just a short walk up the street to get breakfast in the morning. It’s a wonderful spread for a complimentary hotel breakfast, with the usual continental items like bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juices etc. and some hot items like eggs, sausages and waffles.

Our room was very spacious. Closet space, luggage racks, a desk, chairs, two sinks…everything you need to spread out and feel at home. The beds were perhaps the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever experienced. I slept soundly every night, which I wasn’t expecting. The doors to the rooms lead right outside, so I thought with the street right there the room might be noisy, but the town pretty much shuts down at 9:00 each night so noise was never an issue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the La Quinta Inn in Sandpoint.

We have been passing through Sandpoint for several years now and this is our stopping point. We travel from the Portland area to Edmonton, Alberta and this is Close to half way. They welcome our pets and are always clean and no-hassle. They are far enough from the highway we have no traffic noise, and beside a park where we can exercise our pets. Jeannie and Margaret - the two breakfast hostesses we have met - are pleasant and helpful since we have some dietary restrictions. We haven't even looked for another motel in the Sandpoint area.
