To say that this was an older hotel would be an understatement. It's old and run down.
But...for $60, it was a clean place to lay my head for the night. The front desk staff was friendly..and downright funny. But it was a place to stay in this quiet and picturesque town.

The worst part of the lunch was that my wife's French Dip came on a moldy roll and my burger had a long hair in it that only became apparent about two thirds of the way through. Even though there were only a few other people in the restaurant when we arrived, and we ordered quickly, it took at least half an hour to get our sandwiches. And we know that time wasn't spent on quality control. When we pointed out the mold, the server apologized, but didn't seem that surprised.

We didn't stay at the hotel but had dinner here. The food was average, nothing to rave about. My sister in laws fish was not hot and she returned it to have them warm it up. We had the soup and salad and the bar and it was ok. The service was okay, again nothing to set it aside. There isn't a lot in town for restaurants so they aren't working enough to keep things as they should be.

Older room, but clean. Bed was firm, surprisingly husband nor my self woke up either day not well rested. Plenty of hot water.(it's the hottest water I ever felt). Quite motel, not sure if anyone else was even there.

We picked this hotel simply because it was midway between Yellowstone and our home in Washington. We had no idea where we were headed. When we arrived in this cute little town we were immediately intrigued. Check in was easy and the owner is pretty funny. We headed up to the room and were very happy. It was HUGE! There was plenty of space to spread out after a week of camping. We planned to stay here two nights so that we could go hiking nearby. However, we did not make it hiking because we just had to explore Wallace. It was too historic to not take a look. The Brooks Hotel is situated in the center of everything (also not far from The Center of the Universe). We walked all over the town and saw pretty much everything. The highlight of each morning, though, was the huckleberry pancake breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. Words cannot describe the deliciousness. I still dream about these pancakes! The crab leg dinner was good, too. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, you must have breakfast here if you're in the area.
