Booked a trip for our family - Mum, dad and kids aged 6, 3, and 4 months. Kids ages specified when booking. The kids were excited so we looked at pool website at least 5 times before our holiday. It was March so we weren’t expecting the weather to be great so were looking forward to going to the pool everyday. On the first day, I took the 3&6 year olds to the pool and my husband brought the baby down after his nap. No one said anything when the boys and I arrived at the pool or in the changing room but once we were in the pool, I was told we had to get out as one adult wasn’t enough to supervise the two boys. I explained that my husband was arriving shortly - that didn’t matter as he was bringing the baby and TWO PARENTS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO SUPERVISE 3 SMALL CHILDREN, one of whom can swim. I wanted to highlight this as we would not have gone to Bluestone if we had known in advance. It’s probably on the pool website, but not in an obvious place and it wasn’t highlighted when we booked. Due to the time of year, there was very little else to do and the play centre quickly got boring. Most of the activities are aimed at older kids and going for a walk in the rain isn’t much fun.

Otherwise, our apartment was nice. We were lucky to be allocated one near the village but the resort is large so we were a long way from the pool and play centre. Between the golf buggies, service vehicles, random cars and buses, there was an awful lot of traffic for a traffic free resort. It’s also very hilly so cycling around with the 6 yo on his bike and 3 yo on a tag was not fun! Some of the staff we friendly and helpful, others were rude and unprofessional, one shouting unnecessarily at the kids. The food outlets were poor quality so we ended up cooking at the apartment after a couple of disappointing meals.

Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be going again. The swimming pool supervision rules were a big issue and I feel they should be highlighted when families book. You can’t advertise a great pool if it can’t be used! However, the rest of the resort was just ok and not enough to recommend Bluestone. Overall, I recommend you look elsewhere.

We have stayed at Bluestone many times in the past but lately things are not as good as they have been in the past. The queue to get in is getting silly. Bluestone allow you to use the resort facilities before checkin time. We arrived early (about 3.00pm) to park up and go for a swim before going to our lodge specifically to try and avoid the awful queues we have experienced in the past. There were already queues at 3.00pm! Bluestone really do need to do something to make arrival at the park a bit less hassle. 4.30pm is a late checkin time as it is, if you also have to queue for ages to get in then your first evening is pretty short!
On arrival in our lodge the lodge was a bit smelly and not very clean. Most of the crockery was pretty dirty and the oven filthy (thanks previous guests). Given the prices charged and the long gap between check out at 10.00am and checkin at 4.30pm Bluestone should do a better job of getting the lodge clean for incoming guests. The weather was lovely and the outside terrace a joy, but the outside table had been almost burnt through by previous guests lighting a barbecue on it. Thanks again previous guests, but come on Bluestone sort it out. The electricity kept tripping out this stay. This is not something we have ever had a problem with in the past; maybe the electrics are getting a bit old. On arriving back at the lodge after a day out our door lock was not working. We had to trek down to guest services to tell them and then wait around for security to come and let us in and then when they agreed that the lock wasn't working they changed it. Another couple of hours wasted for our second evening... We may have just been unlucky but there seem to be more inconsiderate guests staying. One of the lodges near ours was teaming with somewhat overenergetic children. I'm not against kids, we have some of our own, but I don't appreciate a 7.00 am wakeup call of other peoples kids screaming and shouting at seagulls. I would let my kids do that, why do you have to let yours do that. Their kids were pretty noisy the rest of the weekend too, constantly playing with the horn on the buggy and screaming and shouting. There were loads of them and I can't help but think there was over occupancy in the lodge, as there was a packaging box for a blow up bed in the communal bin area.

Bluestone is still a lovely place. Maybe we were just unlucky this time with previous inconsiderate guests leaving the lodge so trashed that the cleaning team couldn't clean it to the usual high standards and then another rowdy group of guests in another lodge during our stay. None of the problems list are really that significant on their own, but with them all combined together the sparkle was missing from this stay. We already have another stay booked for September (we booked it before our current stay), let's hope our experience is a little better.

We have just returned from a mid week stay. Three generations- 9 adults and 2 small children. We stayed in the Tenby connect Lodge which was perfect. Lovely spacious, clean, well equipped lodges with very comfortable beds. We hired a buggy which did make transporting two small children much easier but we were fairly close to the village and car park.
The resort itself is well placed for exploring the local area plus there is plenty to do on site. The children loved the Blue Lagoon, the adventure center and the play area.
Plenty of choice for eating out and prices reasonable. Service everywhere was friendly and helpful.
I would recommend the spa as well -
very relaxing.
The only comment I would make is that having booked a babysitter we were not told until she arrived that we were not allowed to go off site. This necessitated a hurried change of plans.
We had a brilliant time here despite the weather and will definitely return.

Just returned from our annual family weeks break at bluestone and yet again it was amazing and did not want to leave especially the two kids, cottage was immaculate, staff were very polite and friendly and could not do enough to help us, the park was very well maintained, we bought mountain bikes this time and the routes are endless and enjoyable for all, the kids loved the new park that was a stones throw from our cottage, experience was so good we booked next years break before leaving, see you next year,
