Had a lot of fun with the kids here. There were a lot of really cool things to see. The shows were a lot of fun. One big complaint is that the open nature of the floor plan made it a mess with the number of people there. Other aquariums that have a start to finish flow have worked much better.

I never thought I would get to see this famous aquarium... but alas fate had it willed.

(I remember watching a documentary on the Aquarium, specifically the front entrance and architecture when I was a teen)

We only made it through half the aquarium, but it was beautiful.

Only con was the dolphins and Beluga whales, though beautiful - they don’t belong in tanks .. further dislike that a breeding program is still utilized and Beluga families have been split up as a result of their breeding practices.

Other than that, it was amazing, absolutely gorgeous

Great aquarium but $39.95 for adults is really almost a reason not to go. Exhibits ate great. Whales, polar bears, sting rays you can touch. Shows. But...$$$$$$$.

We loved the Shedd! It is not as big as Sea World, but still lots of fun.
TIP: Buy the City Pass which saves you time and money. With the city pass we passed the long line for general admission. We got to choose a 4D movie at the counter with the pass. Otherwise you pay $5. We chose SHARKS and it was lots of fun!
TIP: Go to the north lobby kiosks as soon as you arrive and get a free ticket for the Aquatic Presentation. They are first come first serve and they sell out fast. We loved all the dolphins and penguins doing their tricks.
TIP: Go to Abbott Oceanarium first because it gets more crowded at the end of the day.
TIP: Park at ADLER parking before 9:30 am and you pay only $11 for the day.
TIP: Eat at Soundings Cafe on their outside terrace and see beautiful views of the skyline while you eat. My soup and salad combo was fresh and tasty.
DO NOT MISS: otter, penguins, beluga whales, sharks. You can touch the starfish and stingrays. They have fish from all over the world. Some of the fish are so unusual. This was a really fun and informative day.
