Went with a colleague and was very impressed with the food and the fast service. Had Filet Mignon, bearnaise, asparagus and steak fries - all very good and cooked perfectly!

Stopped by for a drink at the bar at 10:30 pm after attending Hamilton. Friday night, downtown Chicago, apres' theater and we're asked for last call at 10:50 pm??? I'm confused. We didn't have food and the $15 glass of Chardonnay was ok; but the next time we go to the theater on a FRIDAY OR SATURDAY night, I believe we'll go somewhere else following the show.

Your steakhouse doesn't have to be called Gene & Georgetti's, or Chop House, or Morton's for you to have the quintessential Chicago steak house experience. If you are staying in the Loop, check out Rosebud Prime. Zagat rates it just a few points below Morton's and it will not cost you nearly as much.

I had the bone-in filet and my wife and kids each had the regular filet. Roasted brussell sprouts with bacon were an awesome, healthy (?) side. Kids also had the lamb chop lollipops appetizer (3 full big chops!). Only warning is my daughter ordered half dozen oysters expecting raw oysters but instead got classic oysters Rockefeller. To their credit, the waiter would have made the switch but my daughter ate her cooked oysters instead. Minor thing some people might think the meat was a little under-seasoned (I like Montreal steak seasoning for example) but that's a matter of taste. The meat quality was very good and portions were nice.

Tom (Thomas) was our waiter and his service was great.

Food was great, service excellent. Will visit again. The linguine with clams was outstanding (24 clams in their shells). Sausage and peppers rates as one of the best dishes I have had. Don't miss the coconut cake for desert, worth the extra calories.

The food was very good, but very pricey. The service was excellent. The tables along the bench seat were closer together than we would have liked.
