A native Chicagoan recommended The Little Goat Diner during our week-long visit from Dallas, so we hopped the 'L' to Morgan Station and walked a couple blocks to check it out. By design we timed our arrival before 5:00 pm to avoid the reported crowds. 'Good move, because it was SRO by the time we finished our tasty meal.
The all-day-breakfast seemed like a good idea, and the eggs and bacon didn't disappoint. My Reuben sandwich was stuffed high with paper-thin pastrami and homemade kimchi/sauerkraut. But while waiting for our meals, we spied some crazy huge plates of food being served. The Machos Nachos and the Goat Almighty were ridiculous and begged the question, "Did we really leave Texas where everything is bigger?"
'A great waitstaff, who seemed to enjoy working here. The diner decor is fun and super casual. Bring the kids, and hang out in trendy West Loop. Though pricey, The Little Goat Diner delivers tasty comfort food with a smile. We Texans approve, Chicago!
