Our AirBnB hosts recommended this restaurant to us as there favourite place to eat authentic Chicago deep dish pizza.
Myself and my wife ordered a small meat and more meat deep dish by itself and still had one slice left over.
The pizza itself was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and we really were pleased we followed up on the recommendation

Our first visit to Chicago was Jan 2020 and our first meal was at Giordano's. My wife and I, on the advice of a friend, decided to dine in at Giordano's and we're so glad we did. The deep dish pizza was truly, unbelievably delicious. A definite 10 in our books and a must if we ever visited Chicago again. Fast forward to Jan 2023...we're back in Chicago. Our third night, after a long day around town, we opted to order from Giordano's and have it delivered to our hotel room. Big mistake. First, delivery took over an hour...hotel is only a block away. Second, the medium deep dish was not fully cooked and doughy. A huge disappointment considering the pizza cost $36+-. Third, the breadsticks at $5.45 were thinner than toast. Lastly, a 20oz pepsi cost $3.75 (what a crazy mark up!).

When visiting Chicago and have time (pizza takes min 30 minutes) it‘s the place to go for the traditional Chicago deep dish. Atmosphere and service good, sitting area alright. Good experience.

Pizza was delish! Service was fair. Worth the wait but the gentleman waiting on us seemed preoccupied and had difficulty multitasking. I would still go back because the pie was that good!

The venue and staff were good. The deep pan pizza was an artery-busting palace of oozing fat ( but hey, that’s what you came there for…). Make sure to read the number of people each pizza serves you - WILL be sharing as the sheer calories even in a small is beyond a single person.
The rating is reduced to 2 stars due to the sharp practices with billing - when you get the bill you find a “temporary 3% surcharge” has been added. There is no mention of this on the menu or anywhere that we spotted before you got the bill. There’s no mention of what it’s for or why it’s there - I assume it’s some covid hangover they’ve kept on for extra cash. Fairly sure it’s illegal to add items without warning, but I’m not an expert in Chicago laws.
You’re then encouraged to pay by QR code on the bill. If you do this you’ll find the pre-calculated tip mysteriously goes up as the paper bill calculates it off the pre-tax amount as is usual in the USA. The online bill however tries to add a tip on the taxes AND the surcharge they just sneaked on the bill
Very unimpressed by sneaky price gouging so 2 stars for the visit - wouldn’t come again

I have forwarded all of your comments to the decision makers. The surcharge is to help cover the soarng cost of labor, insurance and cost of goods. It is not a covid fee. I'll have IT look into the "suggested" tip discrepency. That's an odd one I've never heard about.
