This zoo is on the edge of a community referred to as the Quad Cities.

For a small town zoo, this is one of the best. In fact, I prefer it to some much larger zoos. Here is why -

1 The viewing areas are close to the animals
2 They have most of the animals of a large zoo, just fewer of each
3 The zoo is very clean
4 Many of the exhibits are new as of the last five years
5 The animals look exceptionally healthy
6 Excellent close in parking
7 Reasonable admission fees
8 Nice little train ride circles the zoo
9 Concessions are reasonable
10 Not crowded

If you are in the area, go! You will not be disappointed.

After visiting with my 1 and 4 year olds, I would highly recomend this zoo. It is great for younger children. It is not too big and still has a great majority of all the animals you would see at a bigger zoo! We walked around for about 2 hours, just perfect for the kids. They even have statues of animals for the kids to sit on.

I liked the fact that you were on the same level as many of the animals. I some of the larger zoos you are up high and looking down. The giraffe exhbit was great, you could watch them at their height.

We did not eat at the zoo as we were there in the late afternoon.

The Train ride is fun and also fairly priced at 1.50 per person.

The price is very fair for what you get to see 5.00 adult, 4.00 for 4-12.

The Niabi Zoo is a small zoo located in Coal Valley, Illinois which is just a 15-20 minute drive from the Quad City area.

The Zoo is nestled upon a hill and for a small zoo, it has a lot to offer. There is a myriad of animal exibits including lions, reptiles, and local creatures. There is also two fun rides for the children: a train and a carousel. The train is a short little tour around the zoo grounds. The carousel featrues endangered species.

There is also a snack bar and gift shop with reasonably priced items. The zoo has several picnic areas, which also makes it easy to bring your own packed lunch if you would like to save a few dollars.

I took my children here, and it was a great place! It is perfect for young children especially because it is not a HUGE zoo requiring a lot of walking, but it still has quality exhibits.
