This is definitely a spot to stop in for a delightful breakfast or lunch. Bright, lively restaurant, patio seating if desired, and good food! The servers are very nice and attendant. If you sit on the patio, you can bring your doggo. Today waking in, the waiter was giving the dog a bowl of water. People being kind and going the extra mile. My kind of place. And, it's in beautiful downtown Downers Grove!

We have stopped in to other egg harbor locations for breakfast in the past. This location isn't that great. The portions are in the smaller side. 10 dollars for an egg Benedict that barely took up any space in the dish it was served in. The eggs didn't even cover the entire English muffin which tastes store bought. The prices are expected for the location but the portion could be bigger. They don't refill children's milk (would have helped if they filled it to the top to begin with) for free. We felt mildly rushed but understandable given Sunday rush.

Over all my meal was on. Most of it tastes store bought or that it sat out waiting to be delivered.
My potatoes were horrible. They had the consistency of what I imagine eating leather feel like. To dry and not spices enough with a small portion size.

I will pass on this location in the future and I recommend you do to if you have a big appetite.

BKNO, we are extremely disappointed to hear our location did not meet the expectations you have become accustomed to while dinning at other Egg Harbor locations. Our company goes the extra mile to ensure we are consistent at every location. As much as we understand it is not a perfect system, we apologize we did not meet the company standard which has solidified your patronage. We appreciate your feedback and would really like for you to give the Downers Grove location another opportunity to make you a believer in our company's great food and service.

Well Wishes,
Team Downers Grove

Located a few steps away from Downers Grove train station, it is one of the spots in town that is worth coming back to over and over, whether with the family or friends, for a substantial breakfast or a more relaxed weekend. Due to popularity, there are mornings that get busy, the hosting staff are pretty good at keeping track of buzzers given to guests while waiting. Portions are all huge, including the coffee, it's a must to enter hungry. The menu is varying, and can change depending on year or season. The many visits in Egg Harbor yield the following experiences; the Harbor Signature pancakes and "Traditional Breakfast" are the kind you'd like to come back to if you want something familiar, have any of the skillets if you need energy that can get you through the day, aromatic coffee is served hot in a tall, stainless pot, and the soup & half sandwich is the lightest meal in the menu. Special mention to the meats, which are very distinct in taste you cannot get elsewhere but in Egg Harbor, the turkey bacon is thick compared to the ones you buy in grocery stores, with a great combination of smokiness, saltiness and very light hint of sweetness. The serving staff are always good about bringing a coffee cup for any portion of coffee you have not finished, or a box for leftovers. Always consistent in serving food that is beautiful in presentation, delicious in taste, and short waiting times.

Typical American style breakfast. Open's early for jet-laggers. Kid friendly, polite staff. My grandpa loves to come here, wheelchair friendly. Large menu, good coffee.

Definitely not worth the price tag. All hype and little no substance. Too expensive for the little portions you get. I just don't get the hype.

Mom2boys, we are disappointed to hear we did not meet your expectations while visiting our location. While we are glad to hear there is a "hype" surrounding our company, we wish we could live up to it for everyone who steps in the door. We feel we have a portion size and a price-point for everyone. Our staff would be more than willing to guild you through the menu to find a meal which will leave you wanting for nothing. We hope you are willing to give Egg Harbor another opportunity to live up to the positive feedback you have heard about our company.

Best Regards,
Team Downers Grove
