We popped in from a canal boat and, despite being absolutely fully booked the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and managed to squeeze us in. Delicious food, probably the best fish and chips I’ve had in years. Dog friendly too. Thoroughly recommended.

Decided to take a friend as I had a great lunch on a previous visit.
Everything from entering this lovely establishment was brilliant.
The staff are so welcoming and very attentive.
Food beautifully presented.
My friend who has never been before loved it.
Yet another return booked in for July.

Thank SwadGirlie

We arrived on a very busy Sunday lunchtime after travelling a long distance but no reservation. The Restaurant Manager found us a suitable table and made us feel welcome. Although it was very busy, we were served promptly but without the feeling of being rushed. Customer service was excellent, made to feel welcome by all staff and I noticed that families with children were equally welcomed and looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed our excellent lunch and dessert. Will definitely be back.

We live less than 10 miles from this place and finally visited after various recommendations from friends and neighbours. We went on a Wednesday evening with no booking and were accommodated nicely. The regular menu is already good and varied and added to by a wide range of specials. I had a very pleasant squid and chorizo starter followed by pork tenderloin while my wife had steak Diane. Portions were very generous with excellently cooked vegetables and tasty chips. Value was pretty good too and Timothy Taylors on draft - what more could you ask?
The following day was a fish goujon baguette which was a little short of flavour but again nicely presented and accompanied with a fine pint of Bass, appreciated after a 6 mile canal towpath walk!

We didn't have a meal here we camped on their small site which is situated at the back of the pub.
The camp site was small ,uneven ground which made it a bit hard to get your table and chairs level, there wasn't any dish washiing facilities which made it awarkward when it rained.Shower and toilet facilities which were clean were a bit dated, only one of each for whole site.
They serve a nice pint of Timothy Taylor land lord.
