Been here many times but last visit was a disappointment. We had lunch and as staff was unattentive everyting was in slow motion. Took foreber to get the meal and when we got it the portion was minimal. Price was very high for very little.
Furntiture in the coffee room was worn down and in need of replacement.

One hour drive from the City of Stockholm, this beautiful old place is perfect for a discreet business meeting or your company conference. Or why not a romantic weekend. Good meeting rooms, lovely restaurant with excellent food and service. A sauna and a quick dip in the lake. Or why not just a slow stroll in the beautiful surroundings.

This is my favorite castle of all times. It has a mount! There are galloping horses in the background, you can both sleep, eat and have meetings inside the castle. Spa is available.

On my first visit I got the tower room, supposedly haunted. I had two chandeliers one in the bathroom and one in the bed room. The big staircase from the main entrance would be ideal to glide down in an evening gown and the dining room still has its original painted ceiling. On the first floor are only social rooms and one can play chess, pool, etc as well as go to the bar and ask for a glass is scotch, champagne etc. During the weekends they have a cake buffé here, also worth a visit.

There's a park, art in the gardens, a lake, a pond, old buildings and plenty to see. Recommend it for romance, alone time or a conference -for that we had the old mill all to ourselves and could see the water flowing underneath our feet.

We went here to celebrate my friends upcoming wedding and from the moment we arrived we were completely blown away. From the amazing service at check in, to the beautiful bedroom, the gorgeous surroundings and the delicious food - this place is not to be missed.

We had a package which included antipasti and champagne on arrival, a BBQ buffet dinner and breakfast with our stay, we felt it was brilliant value. We spent most of time here in the jacuzzi area which overlooked the lake, the scenery was breathtaking, and worth paying the money for alone.

We got the bus here from the centre of Stockholm - the journey took just over an hour and there was one easy bus change.

i would not hesitate to come back here and can highly recommend for a relaxing treat. Stunning.

My husband surprised me with a 60th birthday party at the castle. With 10 close family members and friends we spent a fabulous weekend chilling in the country setting. The castle is really out in the middle of nowhere but the setting is stunning. We had cloudy cold weather with a bit of snow on the ground but the warm interiors made for a cozy feeling.
We all stayed in rooms in the main building, made it easy to get back upstairs after our dinner, all the rooms were different but all were so beautiful. Room 7 is a corner room with dual aspect, room 13 had a view of the lake.
Down by the lake there is a sauna and 4 hot tubs, just perfect for relaxing any time of year. The spa is in the basement of the castle, very inviting and everyone of us were totally satisfied with our massages and treatments.
So all the trimmings are there to make for a perfect weekend but what really lifts this place is the service and the food.
Everyone who we met were so very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. When we were curious they showed us around and told us a lot of the history of the place. When we needed an outlet for our electric car they arranged that.
Afternoon tea was a full lunch in itself, try the Rånäs champagne, you won't be disappointed. Our five course dinner was delicious. I didn't have high expectations being out in the nowhere but the kitchen is first quality. One of our party was gluten intolerant but that was no problem at all. From afternoon tea to dinner to breakfast the next morning there was a good choice of gluten free alternatives.
If you are looking for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life I can definitely recommend Rånäs Slott.

Room Tip: Room 7 has dual aspect with a beautiful view of the lake. Room 13 has a view of the lake. The suite is secluded up in the attics.
