I fail to comprehend the fact that Trip Advisor had this hotel in the top ten for Peoria. I think I'll follow Donald Trump's lead and proclaim that the system is rigged. Perhaps it's owned by the Clinton Foundation.
Anyway, I'm kidding about the conspiracy theories. I'm not kidding when I tell you that this hotel is sub-standard, particularly when you consider the $145/night on a Wednesday, Inclusive of fees and taxes. I might understand the high rating if the fee was $45/ night and the year was 1983 (the furnishings are consistent with 1983, btw), but I don't, given the actual year and fee.
The first room to which I was assigned had a totally non-functional toilet, and I had to switch.
The second room was just gross-a huge stain on the carpet, a dirty iron that stained the shirt that I had to don for the day' business, a cigarette burn on the vanity top, the door on the heating unit fell off when I tried to adjust the temperature, the bedding was all rumpled.
It appears to me that the business model here, is based on scalping unsuspecting first time visitors, because there are few business travelers that would stay here more than once.
