We had a great 2 day stay at the Commanche cabin. It was nicer than the photo on the website, they have a new futon & a flat screen TV in place of what you see on the site. It is so hard to find nice accommodations that are pet friendly, and this is definitely one of those places. I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cabin, it was so nice to just sit out by the fire pit as the sun set. I was happy to be able to buy wood on site and the fire starters worked amazing, even after a quick rain storm (I bought a few extra to take home).

It is close to all the state parks in the area, I think the furthest one away is like a 20 minute drive, and Matthiessen was the closest at 10 minutes.

You are required to do your own dishes, it would have been nice to have a sponge supplied as it was hard to clean with a washcloth.

Always a clean and quiet time and the owners are there for anything that is needed. We love the no wifi and lack of cell service(it is on the website if you took the time to research your stay along with the common sense rules policy, but sadly it has to be spelled out for some?) The rules actually came in handy this past weekend when our "lovely" neighbor to the left of us decided to blare music out their window. I went over and asked them to check the rules and it stopped :) This past weekend was our 5th time here and it gets better each time. The whirlpool tub in the Americana and on demand hot water are the bomb, the quiet grounds and the honor system with firewood and store items that they keep there in case you forgot anything. Yes, it is a housekeeping cabin and you are expected to clean up after yourself, sadly that seems to be an issue for today's gals? Keep doing what you are doing!

Just a a wonderful and relaxing time. Peace and quiet is abundant as well as picturesque views. A short drive to Starved Rock and Mattheison Parks. All of the comforts of home in a secluded area. I've been coming for years and I will continue for many more years.

This was our second stay at Kishauwau. We werent able to get the same cabin as the first time due to a bug problem but this one was just as wonderful. The cabins are clean, private and modern. The one we had this year had a new back porch on it which allowed us to enjoy the look of our campfire even after the rain started. It also gave us a good location to eat our suppers in the evenings. If you're looking for a nice place to get away as a couple, family, or friends we highly recommend Kishauwau Country Cabins.

Well, let me first start by saying that we bomb all of our cabins for bugs numerous times a year because we are in the woods with them, so it's just to keep any at bay because nobody likes them. We are thrilled that you liked the cabin location that we moved you to and thank you very much for taking the time to tell others what you thought. We do our best to keep guests in the Standard Whirlpool cabins they request and very rarely have to move people, but we do state we cannot 100% guarantee it because sometimes things come up. We hope to see you again sometime.

Location, location, location...Nice spot, close to the main reception area, yet very private. Clean, pet friendly, secure. And being in the woods, in nature, awesome. Woodsy and wildlife accents really make the cabin in the woods feel like home.

We are so glad you liked the location of that cabin. It is the hardest of the dog friendly cabins to get into for that reason. We really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to tell others what you thought about your experience here. We hope to see you again sometime.
