Great Italian food! All pasta and sauces are homemade. The Limoncello Mascarpone cake is to die for.

With their extended menu, you should be able to find something to please everyone's palette, including Gluten Free Dishes. From huge salads, over-flowing pasta plates to very tender chicken parm and tasty salmon dishes, no one was disappointed with their meals.
A nice little fact- we were offered/told to take the bread from the bread basket, as they throw out any leftovers from each table and don't reserve it, something more restaurants should do.
2016maryG,
Thank you for your recent visit and kind review. We hope to see you back in soon!
This is my favorite restaurant. I haven't had anything bad yet. This time I had the salmon and it was delicious! They relocated to a new building within the past 4 years and it is really nice and much better.
Denise,
Thank you for your kind words and for being a long time customer! We hope to see you back in soon.
We had not been to the new location and decided to try it again. We found the location to be very nice with lots of room. We were seated quickly.
The menu has nice options and a full bar. I found the food menu to be economical but the bar menu was overpriced.
Our server was pleasant and knew his menu. To me, the food was lacking. Too much cheese and too little flavor. To me, the best thing on the menu was the pizza. It had a fresh taste for sure. We won't hurry back.
Batholemew,
Thank you for your feedback and recent visit. We are disappointed to hear we didn't quite strike a cord and hope you will be back to give us another try!
If you are visiting Chicago and can take the time venture out to the Western Suburbs to this family-owned gem, do so! I did and, Man, was it worth it. For those of us who were around in the 1970s and remember Mama Celeste Pizza commercials, Clara's was founded by Mama Celeste's daughter (yes, she was a real person, and not an actress; I have it on good authority). The restaurant has been around more than 30 years and its two greatest features are it's unbelievably light and flavorful fresh-made pastas and its make your own pizza bar (a great kids' party idea on Sundays)! All of the old world Italian culinary expertise is still lovingly upheld by Rudy, son of Clara, grandson of Mama Celeste, who has retained his mother's employees all this time. Among them, Sylvia who makes all the pasta fresh, and Carlos. When I was there I had the shrimp and pasta. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and remained tender (over-cooked shrimp can get tough), and the pasta with the light butter sauce was just as good as a take-home left-over the next day! And the desserts are to die for. Just give up the diet and go for it. The nine-year old who was with us summed it up best, "This restaurant deserves 10 stars!" (no hyperbole intended).
Roz H,
