We stopped here on a long cross-country drive knowing that there were few of our "normal" hotel selections in this town. The hotel is one of the first off the interstate and on a snowy night, it was a welcome respite. It is a "no-frills" place--the first on our trip that didn't have a hairdryer in the room and little things like hooks missing in the bathroom set it apart from our other stops. However, the king bed was very comfy and the decor pleasing and the room exceptionally clean. I've been wanting to write a review for a "quirky" hotel, and this one definitely fits that bill with all the basketball memorabilia in the lobby. Interestingly, Steve Alford's first win as a Div I coach was against our home team, UConn, so we're unlikely to forget the name of this place.

Room Tip: Nothing of note. We were so dead-tired, we could have fallen asleep in the lobby.

This was just what we needed, and at the lower price we needed while we were in town with family last week. Everyone was so nice and helpful from reservations, to check in/out. Rooms were large and I liked having the sink separate from the toilet/shower. We rented 3 rooms and all were clean, but one did smell like smoke. Beds were comfy and the towels were even nice for a budget motel. Breakfast area was small, but they had coffee/tea/orange juice and toast, donuts and oatmeal. Just what we needed to get awake and going. We will definitely stay here when visiting again.

I've stayed here 3 times in 18 months and have been very satisfied. This is my half way point on my trips to visit family. Veronica (Victoria?) at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. This will continue to be my go-to hotel. My only mild complaint is trying to find the entrance driveway in the dark. But that's not a big deal.
