I have enjoyed Harris pizza for all of my nearly 50 years. The crust is often copied but never truly duplicated......although many places have tried.
The crust is a perfect mix
Of a New York type thin, with a malty, chewy and slightly sweetened edge crust. This pizza is not New York style though, it os Quad City style pizza, and sets the bar as such. You are seeing other QC style doughs in places like Chicago, but why drive to the Windy City when Harris has multiple QC area locations ready to serve up the greatest pizza in the world right here.
I take out of town coworkers here when they are in town for business, is now on the short list of restaurants my coworkers want to go when in Bettendorf.
What to get? That's easy! The sausage is second to none with the delicious crust, slightly spicy sauce with fennel, and sausage ground so fine and layered generously on the pizza.
Of course, they have tons of varieties of toppings, and do have a buffet on specific days of the week so you can sample a few items at a budget. My only bummer-factor is that the buffet is not every day. No big deal though, just order ip a fresh personal pizza or a large to share with family/friends, and you won't be disappointed.
