We stayed here on a recent trip. The lodge is beautiful and built by the CCC. The rooms are dated, and there was paint peeling in a lot of places including the walls and ceiling. The phone didn't work in the room, but this wasn't addressed until 9:30 at night when we were going to bed. The lodge has many great Hiking trails and stunning views of the river and wildlife. The biggest complaint we have is that while they have a decent restaurant, we were unable to eat dinner there because 2 busses full of people came and there was an extremely low ng wait. The problem is that there is no where else to eat without going to Corbin, which is 20-30 minutes away. At breakfast, I asked the waitress if they knew that big group was coming in and she said yes, they had booked it several weeks before. My suggestion would be to advise those staying at the lodge of large groups so they can have an opportunity to eat before they arrive.

We stayed at Dupont Lodge so we could see the falls. The lodge is older and the rooms are smaller. However, it is very clean and the price is very reasonable. We were on the lowest floor which was nice since we have children. There are plenty of trails to hike and there are programs from Thursday to Saturday for children. The setting of the lodge is beautiful. If we are in the area we will stay here again.

Hey mission team from my church went down to Kentucky to build a room. On our free day we chose to come here and just walk around. Despite the heat, it was a relaxing beautiful day. A few members enjoyed ice cream and many bought items at the gift shop. We were all hoping a moon bow would occur but it didn't. :( overall a very lovely and clean State Park

Very reasonable and well worth the trip. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway. Lots of local produce and good friends to help. We stayed in a cabin duplex, which was very reasonable. Good luck with your travels.

Room Tip: Beautiful area and well worth the scenic views.

We were there for a car club get together. The lodge was built in the 20's, had a fire in the 40's and still going strong. Rooms do have a smell of cleaning -for mildew and such but are a reasonable size given the age of the resort. No elevator so be prepared to carry baggage up stairs. The staff reception was inconsistent. Some were very friendly and helpful others it was just a job. The buffet was reasonably price and good, as was breakfast. Lots of outlets in the room and beds were comfortable. After 3 nights there I felt relaxed and went to take pictures of the falls. They were not large but it felt like being in the middle of nature. Yes there are more upgrades needed like carpeting but overall it was clean and quiet. A non modern get away.
