We've been to Butchertown Grocery several times in the past and have always been pleased. Our visit last Saturday was no exception.

One of our foursome has a garlic allergy (I know, isn't that awful!) but our wait person didn't skip a beat: she went back to the kitchen to check, then came back to report the garlic content of everything on the menu. That was service above and beyond. When I ordered a cauliflower side for the table, she told us that the hummus in the dish has garlic so she would serve it on the side.

We all shared the olive platter (very generous) and then split two pecan and pear salads which were excellent. We each had different entrees: short ribs, hanger steak, artic char and a burger. All were well prepared and presented. The wait person was knowledgeable, checked in with us regularly, but didn't make a nuisance of herself.

The prices at Butchertown Grocery are not inexpensive. I found the food, the service and the ambiance made it worth it. Some of the entrees were under $20, but the prime rib was over $70. Anyone can make it affordable if you pay attention.

Stopped here for brunch on our way out of Louisville based on the recommendation of a local - really glad that we did. The menu was one page but had numerous appetizing choices - and the chicken & waffles were amazing. The chicken & the waffle were very good just by themselves, but together with the syrup and other flavors were truly outstanding. Beware - the chicken & waffles portions are huge and easily shared by two or more.
Also noteworthy were the pear & pecan salad with the blue cheese & jalapeño ice cream - intriguing dish that was even better than it sounds.
Service was top shelf - and the top shelf bourbons were truly worthy of top shelf placement.
Try Butchertown Grocery for a truly remarkable brunch experience.

1st time visit. Great space. The gnocchi was terrific! Cavatini was very good. Burger was great. Ibrahim was our waiter. He was very well informed about the menu and how the food was prepared. We had a special request and he was able to get that request granted.

Will definitely come back.

Want to try Lola's upstair as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at Butchertown Grocery. We dined on a Friday evening, and were glad we had made a reservation in advance. Waitress was attentive and helpful. Two of us loved the Friday special: scallops with peas and blueberries (What a weird combination, but it worked!) Third had a delicious hamburger and fries. Craft cocktails were tasty (try the New York Sour!) We were a little disappointed with the churros & chocolate (but we've been to Spain with the "real thing!") We did enjoy the take-home brownie --rich and chocolatey!

We booked Lola for a rehearsal dinner, party of 40, and had a fantastic experience. The space is amazing and the events team went out of their way to make it even more so. The food and service were A+++. Our guests were delighted and talked about it all weekend. Lola is on the second floor but completely accessible for wheelchairs. I highly recommend Lola for an intimate & memorable event.
