It was a decent restaurant when I visited in the past. The view of the boardwalk and river was amazing and the drink were decent. It really limits your eating options when staying at the Belle Casino

I live in Baton Rouge and ate there quite a few times over the past years. It was good food and service but Please be advised that this location is closed. And prior to closing, their service had diminished to "TERRIBLE". I don't think staff even cared any longer. The last time I attempted to dine there, we walked in before closing hour, seated ourselves and waited for quite a while. A young man finally walked to our table, who appeared to be a manager and announced that they were closed but we could take the food to go. Due to frustration with the manner in which we were handled, we opted out on taking it to go.

It was a warm day, and we had walked around Baton Rouge for a while before returning to the casino. We wanted something to eat and saw the sign for Shucks but had a hard time figuring out which way(s) to go to get into the restaurant. Our waitress was young and (I think) inexperienced, but she was pleasant, and we ordered a light lunch. My husband had a small bowl of chicken & sausage gumbo, and I had a small basket of catfish. The catfish came with delicious "cocktail" sauce (I asked for a second container) and coleslaw. We enjoyed the food and the peaceful atmosphere.
