Great food at a great price and fantastic taste. Went here for lunch one day and the food was simply great with a good traditional setting and service. Highly recommend stopping in by for lunch.

From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like family! Everything is made fresh to eat, the desserts are all homemade! The atmosphere alone is so welcoming. The chicken and sausage gumbo is to die for! The peanut butter pie is sinful!! This is hands down Houma's finest. The southern hospitality is like no other!

The male waiter was rude. The food was bland and it was $75 for 3 adults and 2 children to eat lunch. Will never eat there again.

Business in Houma is slow, but at A-bears the catfish and catfish A-bear's is still as delicious as ever. It is normally server with potato salad, green beans or white beans and rice.. It's hard to save room for some home made pie, but if you haven't tried them you should on your next trip to A-bear's.

May 10, 2016, Great meal!!, I was told this is the oldest family owned restaurant in Houma. They only serve lunch M-Thursday. I had the special, seafood soup( shrimp, crab, oyster) over rice $8.95. My wife had her fried Shrimp( the only thing she ever orders ). The soup over rice was very good, it had some of the best green beans I ever tasted. The potato salad, it lacked a little flavor. Wife said shrimp was just right. Everything was homemade and fresh, the fries were real potatoes. Bread was good and the service was excellent. We were told on Friday & Saturday they are also open at night with a live band. If they are as good as the food, this should be the place on Friday & Saturday night.

Thank Carl T
