The hotel in general looks ok, but it's aging and needs better maintenance. The furniture in the room was in scratches, the shower curtain had tears and missing hooks, the view from the room (tower, 3rd floor) was obstructed by a lot of construction debris on the roof.

The food choices on casino floor definitely lack the quality and quantity - the only way to get food without a ceremony of sitting for an hour in a restaurant was to buy something at the pastry store. And the sandwiches there definitely didn't look well. They need to establish something like pizza/burger/panda express place - to have a convenient option for the guests like other casino places usually do.

First time was seeing such an unprofessional casino dealers. A couple were way too rude - getting angry at guests when they were making a mistake or something.

One lady dealer went so far as to play a drama - when there was a delay to end her shift - she was often stopping the game in the middle to talk with the pit boss, to watch whether anybody was coming. It was ok for her to let the whole table wait... unbelievable. When the next dealer finally arrived, she went as further as to again stop everything and loudly complain to her about the life, about the game, and tell that she was already dealing "the last f*king hand, no way she would deal more". This was so unrespectful to players, I've seen such a drama for the first time. The casino management definitely need to train the staff better - we are there not to listen to that. If you need to investigate this case - that was night 9/7 - 9/8 - ultimate texas holdem table, the lady after Kayla.

To summarize - average hotel with regular casino and untrained staff.

This rating is just for the hotel…. Comp room 3 nights Royal Suite, we get there at checkin and told we’re fully booked, now bare in mind I booked this reservation in July…We were then told by the front desk, oh you can have a queen room.., nope we requested a king, so they gave us room 1007, we get to the room, the toilet does not work, no bedside table no table next to the chair AND WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF SHOWER WHITH NO PLACE TO PUT YOUR SOAP.
Call to the front desk, nope we have no other rooms, you know it’s the Labor Day weekend , so they send the plumber and one table, told we could only have one because people break them.. I’m 63 and haven’t danced on tables in some time.
Saturday, room next door 1009, children slamming the adjoining door, father screaming at the kids, I go down to the front desk, again told we have no rooms this is at approximately 4:00pm which is Check in time…. Again I was told you know it’s Labor Day, at this point I say, yes I’m aware of what the date is, so they send security to listen..
Fast forward to Monday, TOILET IS BROKEN AGAIN..
I LOVE LAUBERGE, BUT NOT SURE WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON WITH THEIR FRONT DESK STAFF… GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER

Room tip: Don’t take 1007….

Mask mandate ordered by Louisiana governor was not enforced at ALL. You are not safe at this resort and when you question it you are met with extreme rudeness. The whole reason we booked our 4 day vacation there was because of the mandate and it was very disappointing to see it not enforced at all. These people weren’t eating or drinking. They were just freely walking the hotel/casino etc without masks on. It was ridiculous. Our hotel room had ants. We moved up a floor…more ants. My hair is long and blonde yet the shower was filled with long black hair. Don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. It’s a shame people won’t follow posted rules but even more a shame that the posted rules aren’t enforced. Clearly it’s a money over safety issue. Lesson learned the hard way…..

Checked in last night and was initially worried about Covid but let me tell you this hotel put my fears to rest. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Bed was super comfy with clean linens. Bathroom was super clean infact the whole hotel was amazing. Even in the casino you could see staff constantly cleaning. We saw maids even shampooing carpets constantly. Masks are required in the hotel but we didnt mind one bit. Of all the places we have stayed this summer this one made us feel the safest. Thank you Lauberge for taking the time to ensure every measure was taken. We cant wait for our next visit. You rock!

Room tip: Main tower rooms give a great view of the pool and Lake Charles.

We really enjoyed our visit and the hotel was great - but very pricey. Rooms were modern and clean. Shower was great. Disappointed we couldn't get a reservation for dinner on a Saturday night because it was so crowded but understand since there was a Ron White performance.
