First let me say, my wife and I have stayed in B&B's all over the world and have had good and bad experiences. We had never been to Natchitoches and you never know exactly what you're going to get when you select a B&B anywhere, but I must say this was one of the best if not the best B&B experience we have ever had. The circa 1890's house was redone beautifully. It is on the river, only a few blocks away from the downtown shopping and restaurant area very easily walkable for eating and shopping. Our room, the Stem Wheeler Room, was large with a king bed, two very comfortable oversized chairs, and armoire. The spacious bath had two sinks and both a tub and shower. I opted for the romantic special with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and it did not disappoint! Six strawberries with a variety of different chocolates. Great! The breakfast was magnificent. Our host, Yasmeen Wadood, started us with a yogurt parfait with fruit, and then topped it off with tasty wheat bread French toast. The breakfast was worth the stay. I just wish we'd had more time to stay a few more days. If you're going to Natchitoches, LA I would highly recommend Violet Hill B&B.

The back porch is so relaxing. We enjoyed sipping a drink and watching the river. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed three nights and every morning the breakfast was fantastic (what a way to start the day). The location is so close to historic Natchitoches, with all the shops and the beautiful park across front street. We left the car behind and enjoyed a short walk into the historic area. Our room was spacious and the amenities were numerous. Would definitely recommend. What a great B&B!

My husband and I stayed in the Stem Wheeler room with a king bed and walk in shower. It was wonderful. Laverne is the icing on the cake! She is so sweet and welcoming and serves DELICIOUS breakfast each morning. We will be returning.

This B & B is located in the small town of Natchitoches, there are some lovely shops and the river area it really pretty and there is some history too, but best of all the the Violet Hill B & B. We have stayed in a lot of B & B's and this is the best, no doubt. The rooms are beautiful with old world charm but not at the expense of comfort. The breakfast is amazing and it is a short stroll to the shops. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the Prince Haithcoat Suite and it was fantastic. The suite and entire house is filled with antiques. The suite has two rooms, a library and a bedroom. The house also sits on the Cane River Lake with steps down to the water. Laverne was an excellent host and prepared a wonderful breakfast. We highly recommend the Violet Hill B&B.
