We stopped by for lunch today on our way through Maine and had a delicious lunch and beer tasting. The selection of craft beers was a nice mix of IPA’s, wheat, porters, and stouts. I appreciate being able to purchase a couple of “sample”size beers rather than having to buy a larger size. All four of us ordered something different for lunch, and everything was delicious. The maple chicken soup was outstanding, as were the Thai chicken wings. We also had a selection of sliders, and the nachos. Everything arrived fresh and hot. Service was excellent.

A place that has been around for a few decades.. they have built a foundation on serving food and creating local craft brew offerings that are exceptional. Well, somehow they found a DONUT maker that specializes in over sized yummy yeast donuts.. 1 Donut can easily feed a family of 5. On many a fine evening friends gather on the deck for open sky and fireplace warmth.. You will find locals that water here and folks from away that relish a good time.. easy to find hard to leave.. Live music and several large tv options to watch your favorite game..

Party of four stopped in for pub food and a brew. Table service was genuine and friendly albeit the wait staff for food seem detached from the bar. They know just enough to get by which seems to reflect upon a brewery's intensions as more of a customer offering than a product unto itself. Three of our party were satisfied with their choices reflecting on the fact that it is pub food. I on the other hand made the mistake that I was in the state of Maine and the coast was within a reachable distance. I ordered the haddock sandwich. Simple enough, perhaps to simple. Take a bun, swipe with mayonnaise, top with lettuce and tomato, and serve. Haddock, did someone order haddock? What the heck, we are located at the entrance road to a ski resort, not a fishing village. What do we do now? Quick, run over to the country store and buy a can of herring. This will work, we can bread it, fry it, and slip it between the buns. They will never have a clue that it is a herring and not haddock because all they will taste is our super tasty bun. Haddock, who would ever order a plump fillet of a white fish in the mountains of Maine. What are we, savages?
