Description: The Blue Moon Cafe serves breakfast and lunch 7 days a week and is conveniently located on Commercial Street right on the water. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking scenic Boothbay Harbor. The atmosphere is casual and we serve fresh and creative food at reasonable prices. Several of the Cafe’s specialties include, Fresh Baked Muffins, Cinnamon Pecan Crusted French Toast, Homemade Corned Beef Hash, Breakfast Burritos, Maine Lobster Rolls, Haddock wraps, Reubens and Crab Quesadillas. We also serve beer, wine and spirits so you must try one of Fred’s Most Excellent Bloodies which are always a favorite for Sunday Brunch. On Sundays we serve Lobster and Crab Benedicts as well as special seafood omelets. Please contact us about hosting a private dinner party on our gorgeous deck for 10 or more people. It is super reasonable.

For whatever reason we get out of patterns, and that was the case at Blue Moon. It also can be busy in summer - and the line format of ordering is not my favorite. But here it is an ordered process, the owner is very pleasant and the staff make eye contact and smile. The view of the inner harbor, where you wait at your inside or outside table is just as animated next to the boats going off to Monhegan and elsewhere - a very pleasant experience of the day unfolding. The benedict, with smoked salmon was fresh and not too salty, the homefries ok - but I'm not a fan of them generally. All in all I wondered why I don't come here more often - particularly in September.

So you don't want a large lunch entree then come to blue moon with many sandwich options with a view. Food is delivered tongue seat of your choice fairly quickly and just hits the spot.

We have been eating here since their opening. They are creative in their menu choices and the food is always top notch. If you have the option, dine on the deck and take in the water views.

We followed the advice of Trip Advisor and checked out the Blue Moon Cafe for a terrific lunch - you order at the counter and take a seat with your beverage and a number, and 10 minutes later or so, your food is delivered ready to eat! We started with a cup of the clam chowder that was more like a stew, not thick at all but utterly scrumptious with rich flavor, butter and lots of tasty tender diced clams...I had the Haddock Reuben Special that day with Cole Slaw and the flavor combinations were delicious - the sauerkraut was delicious and it's sweetness balanced nicely with the crisply fried fish. Cole Slaw was delicious as well. We bussed our trays and left very happy....would go again!

This is a delightful spot, with a view of the water, funky little place where you can get really good food for a fair price. We had breakfast of baked vegetables topped with swiss cheese and an optional egg, with their own homemade gluten free bread toast! We skipped the bloody marys and mimosas this time. You will see all kinds of foodie awards and accolades and high marks on trip advisor for good reason. They have been doing this for a while and they have got it down!
