Brought a friend visiting from California to Afternoon Tea here. It was wonderful! The in is beautiful, the room was comfortable, the food was delicious, and there was a great assortment of teas. Would like to give special shout outs to Kurt and Christina at the front desk who helped us when we arrived a little early. Next time she visits we are planning on staying overnight here.

We're delighted that you enjoyed our afternoon tea! Our tea is included in the overnight room rates (along with our full buffet breakfast) when you book your room reservation directly with us. We hope to see you again for an overnight stay when your friend returns!

We were given room 212, a very large and well- appointed room with a working fireplace and crammed full of thoughtful, guest- friendly touches. There was an antique dresser which had handmade dovetails in the drawers. The cabinets in the bathroom and the room’s bar sink cabinets had soft close doors / drawers throughout. There was a credenza with coffee and tea service, and a big fridge. The lighting was warm LEDs throughout, and there were reading lamps in all the right spots. The fireplace was all ready to go, with logs, kindling, paper and matches. It was too warm to use, but the thought and care are much appreciated. The bathroom had marble tiles and a whirlpool tub, and nice amenities.
The king bed was very comfortable and the reading lamps on each side had ample light to read by. They employ a very friendly staff. There is also evening turndown service, and they refresh any used towels in the bathroom.
With a six day stay, we could see that everything functioned well, and the couple of times we needed the air conditioning, it cooled things down very quickly.
There was good coffee and coffee cake available downstairs nice and early at 06:00 and in addition, afternoon tea. The generous breakfast buffet had lots of fresh Maine blueberries, muffins, scrambled eggs plain and fancy (the fancy was different each day), oatmeal and all kinds of other goodies. There are two restaurants in the hotel, the Broad Arrow Tavern and the Maine Harvest dining room. Both are excellent.
The Harraseeket Inn is really a nice combination of the warmth, coziness and friendliness of a B&B and the advantages of a larger hotel. When we return to Freeport again next year, we won’t even think of anywhere else to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the back lawn will be very quiet

We were very pleased with this pet friendly inn. Clean large room that accommodated family of 3 plus our dog. In the morning they served a great complimentary breakfast for guests that booked through their site. The breakfast had a good variety. Scrambled eggs were delicious and amazing bacon.
Defiantly a place I would highly recommend.

Thank you for your review! We donate 25% of our nightly pet charge to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, a no-kill shelter, and by doing so have helped raise over ten thousand dollars to help less fortunate pets find forever homes. That's something for our guests who travel with their canine friends to be proud of! We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again soon!

We just stayed in one of their dog friendly rooms- cute little gifts for puppy, water/food bowls, bed...out human beds were great! We will be returning next year! Love the fire pit as well! There was a couple with a pair of happy dogs, but that wasn't the Inn's fault!

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us! Most of our four legged guests are very well behaved but on those rare occasions when they aren't, a call to the front desk usually resolves the problem quickly. Thank you for your review and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

We discovered this lovely inn about a decade ago during a 3 week "leaf peeping" tour of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. We were only booked for 3 days but vowed to come back because we loved our stay there so much. Since then we've spent many enjoyable vacations at this very special and charming inn that strives to make their guests welcome and comfortable in ways that are definitely reminiscent of bygone days. The fact that it is family owned and (mostly) run is apparent in the attention to detail and quality seen at every turn. Our last trip in June was to celebrate our 50th Wedding anniversary. We spent 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a basket of fresh fruit and cheeses along with a hand written note from the family wishing us a happy 50th anniversary. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful with a beautiful view of the well kept grounds. Our mornings were greeted with an abundant breakfast buffet of anything one could want from fresh fruits and baked goods to hot cereals, pancakes, bacon and eggs +. In the afternoon around 3:30 high tea is served and it's quite the gathering in the parlor with delicious treats to delight the guests. Two restaurants are on location...one Pub-like for lunch and dinner which is very good and the other one more formal for dinner only. We quite enjoyed both. As well as the above praises, I's like to point out that the Inn is totally devoted to saving the environment any way they can. All the leftover foods are composted for local use, their cooking oils are recycled and used in their fleet of vehicles used for the inn. There are other green practices too numerous to mention here they adhere to every day as well. It's pretty obvious we're sold on this place, I would highly recommend to everyone.
