“Sadly in need of tlc”
Review of Wedding Cake House

Owner description: Elaborately styled 19th-century house at Kennebunkport Landing.

Remembered this from visit to area some 15 years ago and the history behind it. Lovely unusual old dame of a house but sadly needs a lot of money spent to repair and repaint it. See from one of other reviewers they met the owner who is 90 so it must be getting beyond him to keep it up. Hopefully someone will rescue this gem before the rot is too great.

The Wedding Cake House is called the "most photographed house" in the state of Maine. It is an historic house located at 104 Summer Street. The home was built in 1825 by shipbuilder, George W. Bourne. The history behind the house is very interesting.

Very interesting to see something that is totally different from other houses in the area. Needs a little tlc but am sure in its prime it was beautiful. Worth a look and a photo stop,

Wedding cake architecture, quite a treat. Sometimes the owner will greet passerbyers, but not today. Still an opportunity to stop and gawk.

Peeling paint and some rotting wood aside, you can't help but admire the beauty of this once grand old dame!! Worth a quick stop as it is only a couple miles from the center of Kennebunkport.
We stopped and as chance would have it, met the owner (a 90+ year old gentleman who was walking his 3 dogs on the front lawn). A delightful fellow with lots of humor and class!
