We were there over the Christmas by the Sea celebration. A number of problems with our room and although the front desk was sympathetic, nothing was done for the 3 nights we were there. Problems: The key to the room did not work consistently. Sometimes took 30 min of attempts and jiggling to get it to open. Then the key got stuck in the door and we couldn't take it out, so had to leave it in the door overnight and when we left the room. None of the outlets in the living area worked so we could not turn on a lamp. The blinds in the bedroom fell down the first night and so there was no privacy or ability to block the light in the bedroom. Very disappointing. We had friends there staying in other rooms and they had nice rooms with all working amenities. The management would also not move us to another room.

Located just across from the entrance to the marginal way, and right in the middle of town. Within walking distance to the beach, playhouse and restaurants. We only moved our car twice the entire week to go to restaurants that were a bit further.

Myself and my sister in law have stayed here for the past two years in the front and street facing loft rooms which have private balconies (we staying in 202-side and 209-front-pictured). The staff here is very friendly and offered whoopie pies upon arrival, free coffee until 9pm, and fruit water.

As other reviewers have said the rooms are outdated but very clean and you cannot beat the location.

I personally am not a fan of the pool, it's a bit creepy to me, and I would not bring my kids in it. I think the area would be better served if they demo'd it and installed an outdoor pool something like the anchorage has. BUT, with the location to the beach and Marginal Way, a pool is really just a bonus and not a requirement when you're not with kids.

All in all, a wonderful palce to stay and we will be returning next year!!

Room Tip: Loft rooms, even on the office side of building(we stayed in 202) have a distant ocean view for a great price!

Thank you for taking the time to review Seacastles Resort. We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed staying with us over the past couple of years! We want all of our guests to feel welcome from check in to check out, so we are glad our staff made a positive impression, and that you enjoyed the complimentary goodies we offer.
While some of our rooms are a bit more dated, we do make improvements when necessary, and we work very hard to keep them in tip-top shape so every guest can enjoy a clean and comfortable room.
We are sorry to hear that you were not impressed by the pool area. While it would be nice to enjoy the sun during your swim, the enclosed area allows us to keep the pool open year-round, which is important to our off-season guests. On the bright side, the enclosure also makes swimming fun when the weather is not so great! Also, we have a beautiful lounging area right outside the pool area where you can soak up the sun after your swim!
As you said, we do have a perfect location. We are just a short walk from Marginal Way, Ogunquit Beach, and the shops and restaurants downtown.
Thank you again for this kind review, and we hope to see you on your next trip to Ogunquit!

Excellent place...access to the Marginal Way for a great walk is directly across the street. Beautiful setting and the Town of Ogunquit is charming and all within walking distance. Front porch wit rocking chairs is classic.
