Growing up in Old Orchard I never had the need to stay at Wild Acres. Since I’ve left my little beach town ten plus years ago Wild Acres has become my home away from home. A group of us rented a couple park models next to one another to enjoy the 4th. It was everything we could have asked from and then some, we actually got to visit Caeser the Camel who came by the campground our final weekend there. Laundry facilities are clean and close by while having a golf cart allowed us to pretty much park at the bottom of Union Ave. (5 min walk to the beach). Our group consisted of college friends reuniting each and every night with grilling and a campfire. We also used to trolley service to go to and from the beach to mix things up as well. Aaliyah who check us in was a gracious host and the entire staff always had a smile on their face. It was nice to see the team at Wild Acres enjoying and taking pride in their job rather than just going through the motions. Side note: You must go to Fielder’s Choice during your stay to grab a delicious ice cream treat. 51 more weeks till the next 4th of July rendezvoused.....not like I’m counting.
