We stumbled across this beautiful 1890's farm house and stayed the night because the gracious owner, Chris, allowed us to drop in. She accommodated our schedule, letting us have an apartment at the last minute. We loved it! Clean, well furnished, quiet, great bed, perfect interior decorating, lovely trails, and everything you need for comfort. Can't say enough about it.

Mountain Glory Farm is a glorious place to stay, and I would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from it all and/or explore the north woods of Maine. For purely selfish reasons, I am almost hesitant to write about how clean and comfortable the farmhouse apartment is and how peaceful the location, but it would be a disservice to an owner who put so much into the details of providing everything a guest could want for a relaxing visit. There was a book of information about the area which was very helpful. It was an easy drive to the north entrance of Baxter State Park, and it was also nice to stay in and sit in the lounge chair and read while looking out the windows at the fields and mountains. There was a nice walking path around the farm property, the bed was comfortable, the sky was dark, the location was quiet and the people in the nearby town of Patten were friendly.

This is the perfect place to relax. It sits back on a quiet country road with beautiful views of Mt. Kahahdin (if it's sunny!) through the large picture windows. Very secluded and romantic! The farm had two "apartments"; we were in the north apartment. It had a lovely interior, very clean, and tastefully decorated. We only wished we had stayed longer! A perfect place to stay if you will be exploring Baxter State Park.

We rented a two-bedroom apartment at Mountain Glory Farm in Patten. It's a 170 acre farm on Happy Corner Road and we really enjoyed our three nights there. The apartment (the farm house has been made into two vacation apartments) has very comfortable furnishings, was meticulously clean and the views are spectacular. It's a quiet and peaceful place.

Just over the Patten line in Stacyville is Theriault's Fly Tying Shop and Farm. This is quite an interesting place and the owners, Alvin and Connie Theriault, are open, friendly, just wonderful.
It's worth a stop even if you're not a fly fishing fan.

Patten is close to Baxter State Park where the landscape is magnificent. It's also not too far (about 40-50 miles I think) from Houlton, Maine and Canada.

We live on the coast and getting to see another, very different part of the Great State of Maine is fun and fascinating. I'd recommend it.
