I have been to the sauna many times and have stayed overnight a couple of times at the inn on the property. The owner is very friendly and the rooms very comfortable. There is an indoor swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, a hiking trail out back and of course, the sauna, The place can get busy so the hot tub can get crowded at times. You do not need clothing anywhere on the property, including the inn, so you can leave your clothes in your car when you arrive. Keep in mind, the sauna property is not nudist, it is naked so keep an open mind if you are to visit. There aren't many places where you can casually walk around naked so if you are not shy and enjoy having your clothes off for a while, then this place is for you. Check it out, it's a great experience!

We have been going to the Sauna for over 20 years. It is not for everybody!! While it is a safe environment, it is nude .... not nudist. PDAs are common and there are frequent occurrences of affection.
That said, the Sauna is a wonderful place. An outdoor hot tub, multiple saunas, and a covered heated pool to cool off. The B&B is homey but comfortable.
It's almost a party atmosphere on the weekends as many locals are repeat customers. We go up every couple of weeks during the Winter.

Background: We are an early 30s couple that has experience with nude vacationing and lifestyle activities. This concept is not new to us and this review is not based on the shock factor of being in such an environment.

This place is very poorly run. So much so, that after seeing our room, got back in our car and left. Paid triple as much to stay at the Courtyard in Portland and are very happy we did.

We showed up for an overnight stay at the B&B. There was no host/greeter at the house or even a "front desk" to which you can come to for help. I know its a B&B, but most have this feature. So we spend 10 min walking around the house and property trying to figure out who to talk to.

Finally found a person who was ?assisting? the owner. After a few more minutes of waiting, he showed us to our room BTW, he was naked from the waist down. That makes its REALLY easy to tell him apart from the other patrons... wait... no it doesn't.

The room is tiny. Had its own toilet and sink but shared shower. Closet was filled with junk. TV was hung on the corner of the wall that is perfectly at head level for a 6ft tall person, so head injury should be common in this room. Sheets were ones you would see at Grandma's house.

The worst part about this place is how run down everything is. There is a wide gap between Rustic and Nasty and this place was on the other side of Nasty. Kitchen was dirty with personal mail all over the table. Floor was gritty and felt like it wasn't mopped in weeks. We didn't even tour the actual pool and sauna as the buildings looking like they were going to fall down any minute.

Here is the kicker... they want you to get naked and enjoy it??? How? I felt like I needed a has-mat suite just to be there... I don't want to be naked in that!

As mentioned earlier, after being there for 15 min, we got back in our car and left. Took us 1 hour to find another place to stay.

My wife and I have gone to this sauna about 5 times and enjoyed it for what we thought it was, just a sauna at which we could relax unmolested. Our most recent experience was that of going into the public pool area to cool down after a spell in the sauna and being visually assaulted by a man providing cunnilingus to his lady friend at poolside. When we complained it was stopped however the person running the sauna seemed surprised that this was the first we had seen of explicit sexual behaviour there. He further admitted that this was not an uncommon practice and in fact that there was a "private room" at the back of the sauna that was frequented by the clientelle. We were both creeped out and decided to leave immediately, we won't return. Later we found out about the concern of video cameras and were further repulsed. My biggest issue is that this is a place with ulterior motives that are not advertised, and leaves people such as my wife and I feeling taken advantage of, or made a fool of, or visually harrassed,..I'm not sure how to really put it.

I understand what "clothing optional" means. But somehow the pornographic magazines all over the Inn really bothered me. Being naked in the sauna, the pool, the sunning area? Of course! It was lovely! I participated and enjoyed it. But when we saw several Playboy magazines around the house and some gay porn in our room, it really bothered me. Where the men checking me out? I was so uncomfortable after that.

The place is really run down. Their idea of a continental breakfast is not the same as mine. I would have gone back just for the sauna, pool and sunning yard, but not after I saw all the porn.

They have what I assumed were security cameras all over but now I'm wondering if they were watching us for some disgusting reason.

I will never go back..
