We arrived here without a reservation whilst kayaking along the Maine Island Trail and although it was really busy the staff did everything possible to meet our needs. It was a peaceful evening with very easy access to the water. Although we were only there for one night it was clear that many of the people and resident for quite some time, taking advantage of the the quiet coastal location.
There is a small shop which sold enough food for our needs but other people would probably want to travel further afield to stock up. There is also an interesting selection of local books available to purchase.
Would certainly stay again of we are in the area.

Lobster Buoy Campsites are the most relaxing campsites, if you want to get away and just enjoy camping. No need for pools, hot tubs, rec rooms, etc. Just a peaceful, friendly place with other friendly campers and great owners. If you want fancy, this is not the place for you, but if you want to relax, this is the place to do it.

We were invited along on on a camping trip by another family who have been coming to the site for years, and their folks too also have a regular plot. What an absolute pleasure it was! Unfortunately we chose a terrible weekend weatherwise - it was pretty much a monsoon for an entire weekend (early summer before July 4th) but we had one glorious evening and day... the children played on the beach ALL DAY. The water was beautifully clean and peaceful, and everyone on the ground were relaxed and low-key. Mostly older couples vacationing with friends, retired couples, and some younger families. Everyone was very friendly and it was clear a lot of people were regulars. This is the kind of campsite where memories are made for children and you have an eventful summer (learn to ride a bike, catch some crabs in the rockpools, see some fireflies for the first time... I could go on). Lots of things to do in the area, very cute small town nearby. The campsite is very quiet and chill later at night, which is great. Can't wait to get invited back!
Don't forget you're camping though. This isn't the Ritz!

Room Tip: Bring a sweater and cover your items at night! Being close to the waters edge makes things a little damp!

I have camped here many years. in the past with family, friends, and solo and most recently with fiance! We have made friends and acquaintances with the staff and clientele!
Nice laid back camping area. No frills, just a great place to sleep, eat in site, and swim in the ocean. We use it as a base to visit all the region has to offer.
Central place to visit many local attractions; museums, light houses, shops, etc. Close to Camden and Rockland without the price! Close to Route 1 with out the noise! If you forgot something from home, Wal-mart and supermarkets are close, too. Many kayak folks stay here as a base camp.
Tent, camper, motorcycle, and kid friendly! We will be back next season! Maybe see you there?

Room Tip: Camping on coastal Maine requires layered dress. Wind breaker for ocean breeze and early morning (or any other time) fog.

We arrived near the end of the season and were 1 of 4 campers in the park. Our waters edge site had gorgeous views and we loved watching the tide and hearing the waves. Very friendly owner. Prices cheap. The grounds needed some manicuring but everything else was wonderful. We would stay here again.
